goodbye cowboy :')
The characters and the entire tone of the comic changed very suddenly.
You've lost me. He stopped wanting revenge after he found out Aki wasn't the one that turned him away back then.
An additional comment about Yoshino: Masamune is the only person she is completely open and acts herself around. At first glance she seems shy and timid, but Masamune knows about her other side that likes self defense stuff and actually speaks her mind.
I was feeling annoyed and confused about what's happening in the recent chapters, and I've got to say you've enlightened me and things made much more sense now. I thought Masamune's actions are just fickleness and random but, oh boy, I've severely underestimated this series just because it's rom com, and it's shounen. I didn't even consider how these relationships were formed. Nice to get perspective.
Otherwise, I agree on most, if not all, of your points.
When will the suffering end?
Well, obligatory chapter .
His feeling for Aki fade day after day and it become hard for him, everyone can see it, Neko in the 1st place.
Let's see where it go. If he love Yoshino, he need to get out of this fake life before he mentally broke, and this will probably take some chapters .
My man.
wth with that 'smut' tag
The way I see it: It was a shitty situation engineered by the immaturity of a little kid. It just happened to have unforeseen consequences that spiraled out of control. She was what? 6 years old when she did that? While both Masamune and Aki were changed by the event, you can't put the genie back in the bottle. They're now different people from who they were back then. Masamune found himself still drawn to Aki over the course of the series so far, but was always kept at arms length until they started dating. At which point he finds out Aki only seens him as the old Masamune and wants things to be how they were long ago. This basically denies who Masamune is as a person now, and messes with the current lifestyle he has. He's basically dragged along at Aki's pace and her eating habits would likely ruin all the hard work Masamune has done to get into shape. And while the root of that work was for revenge, its long since become a part of who he is, regardless of revenge.
On the flipside of this, Yoshino was born into a family destined to serve and has basically subsumed her own wants and desires her entire life for Aki and the Adagaki family. She made one immature mistake as a kid and beat herself up about it ever since then while also secretly trying to track down Masamune. And while she claimed she was helping Masamune get revenge on Aki, she knew that given more time spent with Aki, he would never be able to follow through on that and would see her good qualities. It would be her way to make amends for splitting them apart in the past.
The wrinkle in all of this is that just because you got along as kids, doesn't mean you'll be a good fit as adults. Masamune lacked confidence as a kid and was basically dragged around by the whims of Aki. Fast forward to now, and Masamune is merely finding out that while he may respect Aki and is thankful for her help in the past, they just don't mesh very well as a couple. Masamune and Yoshino, despite his calling her "Master", have far more of an equal relationship and dialogue.
We'll see where this goes though. Final pairings in manga rarely make the most sense from a storytelling perspective, however. All bets are still off at this point.
The reason I like this manga is because there's an inner conflict inside the main character which actually makes sense to me.
I mean, I'm not gonna say it's not a stupid one, but hey, at least it's there.
btw, if you dont know what im talking about yet, its that he likes both best girl and worst girl
Honestly, I feel like this is a crappy situation from a writing standpoint. Revenge or not, he was genuinely falling for her all this time, and it's not like she was doing him any favors in the process--it was an uphill battle. The idea he would suddenly fall out of love with her the moment "revenge" wasn't on the menu anymore and realize how truly in love with Yoshino he was just doesn't make a lot of sense. I mean his spur of the moment confession to her when his imposter was around had nothing to do with revenge. He finally let out his real emotions, much to his regret after the fact because he'd carefully curated his outward persona up till that point. And now, at this point, it doesn't look like he has any romantic feelings whatsoever for her, which bothers me.
I know what the author is trying to do, implying that now that Yoshino is distancing herself from him, he realizes how much their interactions meant to him. But that doesn't erase the feelings he has constantly been demonstrating for Aki since this story started. It's not like people can only fall for one person at a time. Don't just erase half of his character was and play this as a "I am only with her and showing her a smile out of guilt" thing... Jesus.
Yoshino or Aki, I don't really mind who wins. I edge towards Aki for the sheer fact that I feel sorry for her. The whole situation was entirely screwed up by Yoshino in the first place, and if she hadn't done what she did, they would probably have been a pretty loving couple right now, without her weird eating disorder and without her ice queen persona, Masamune could have felt more confident in who he was without the serious personality change and revenge would have never been on the menu. But I also feel sorry for Yoshino because she's been punishing herself this whole time. I feel like no matter where this goes, I'm going to feel bad.
This is better than a soap opera.
Damn I hated this chapter...
Masa is "trying" but everyone close to him can tell he's faking it.
Yoshino encouraging Aki to fall deeper in love even tho we know how she feels.
Did Aki turn into the Villain?
This really has become a soap opera. I don't enjoy reading it. Yet for some reason, I still follow it.
Nah, he's just dense like every other harem protagonist. The only reason he noticed that he was in love with Yoshino is because she stopped interacting with him like she used to.
Lol, where have you been? She came clean with him some chapters ago.
Guess what? He only started feeling something for her after she told him the truth.
Masamune is a masochist confirmed?
Damn story is all over the place, quickest valentine ever and two pages after its just forced break up, dumbest author yet... cant keep a simple story for at least 100 chapters its quickly going to get the well-deserved axe, went from potential to mediocre. Too bad, it was a favorite up until the France trip.
On a side note damn that maid, she was the jealous crazy M who started all this she should just come clean to remove that revenge need the guy has, bet you he won't be liking her after that explanation.
She still feel somewhat guilty for what he did for Masemune and Aki so things will continue like this for quite a while until he actually end up with our favorite girl Yoshino.
I'm lost... Does he still intend on doing his revenge stuff on her even after finding out she wasn't the one?
