Assassination Classroom

Character: 4/5.
Korosensei's character is just too creative and too awesome (like how he's really into cleaning, seems really human in the inside despite the appearence, his facial expression almost never changes because his skin color expresses it instead, etc.)
but honestly i think the others r kinda dull...(so far that is). the neuro X yako combination in terms of seriousness and comedy was near perfect, and all of the supporting characters were all cool/weird/funny. even though its the same author, i doubt that he'll be able to make characters that r better than them.

there was nothing out of the ordinary but it was really natural and intersting; it sucked me into reading it till the end.

alot of "WTF!!?" aspects but if u read from the stance of "oh come on, its a manga", its spendid...
i think this is the strongest point of this manga. its really out of the ordinary from normal manga standards, but its also really simple which made it an easy read.
especially loved each and every setting relating to korosensei loll

this was what dissappointed me the most... although alot of u say the art got better, in my perspective, by getting better i think the author lost one of his strong points in writing manga.
the strongest reason for y i started to read neuro was the art. u could never say the art is good in an obata takeshi (death note) way, but it certainly was VERY unique. but now because he got better at drawing, both in a good and a bad way, his art is now "normal". i like mangas that r abnormal in one way or another, so this kind of saddened me...


....well yea i did say alota negative stuff but im actually really looking forward to this series. i mean afterall neuro was also the type that got steadly better so... the fact how i can't even imagine what the next story would be like scares me but oh well

Assassination School is the story of class 3-E of Kunigagaoka Middle School, where every morning they greet their sensei with a massive firing squad as the sensei, who is a weird combination of a teru teru bozu and an octopus that moves at speeds of mach 20. It turns out this creature was responsible for the destruction of the moon, rendering it forever in a crescent shape. He has then announced to the world that he will destroy the world in 1 year. The creature will then teach class 3-E to assassinate him, where they are taught to kill him before the year is over.

Koro-sensei, as he is called, is an odd character. He has a tremendous ability to destroy the earth, and yet, he doesn't take his enemies seriously and is even teaching a class to kill him. However, what I love so far is that his opus morandi is neatly foreshadowed, letting us to believe that there will be a huge sort of character development, which is what Yuusei was so good with in Neuro. In fact, Koro-sensei seems to the be only one who actually cares about these society rejects as he accepts their name for him.

Class 3-E is considered the bottom of the barrel and are treated by society as such. In this way, we begin to see what happens to people when pushed to their very limits. Watching Nagisa, a shy boy, move deftly to feint a knife thrust as he delivers a BB grenade up close is very cool, and yet very disturbing. In the same way, Yuusei is rehashing certain themes from his previous work, but he delivers it in a new package that feels new again.

I also must comment on his art. It has GREATLY improved. Aside from Koro-sensei's freakish teru teru bozu smile, the characters themselves feel nicely distinguished, and the scenes feel much extremely action-packed. The light mood is nicely counterbalanced with said disturbing scenes, including one where Koro-sensei shoots himself to show how vulnerable he can be.

But when he grows a new tentacle, you know that this is one guy you DON'T want to mess with. Let class begin.
