I went in with low expectations based on the title, but this is actually pretty damned interesting.
Nothing startlingly new, but the existence and explanation for beast-men is intriguing, and both the characters leave a lot to be explored in their personalities and backstories. I'm actually quite curious to see what kind of world this author drew up for us, and how our leads will play a role in it.
I'm also a sucker for stories like this, in which main characters can be nameless for either a good while or the whole series. It draws more attention to their character and actions, which have somehow always seemed to be quite well done in these types of stories.
Interested to see what the main character's face should really look like, too. He's gonna be fun to follow.
