I liked the inversion of roles though, Ra trying to express the beauty of his creation by handing Dark Lessa a flower; and Dark Lessa crushing it with complete indifference.

 

Whereas later, Lessa was trying to present the flower to Ra as some item of significance, and Ra was instead responsible for shooting him down.

I think their was a bit more to it than that. Lessa had finally understood the concept of a "gift" but he had yet to understand the meaning or purpose of the gift. Thats what Ra was trying to teach with the whole branch/whip thing.

Thanks for the explanation now I understand more Dark Lessa nature. What I meant in the previous post that this 'love' is one sided since for Lessa is impossible to feel that, and this flower scene is similiar to the one we had in 1 season.

because humans, for as long as they've had society, have assigned the right to give and take life to women. doesn't mean that women have a right to kill, but it's a matter of course that someone who creates a life can also take away that life. it's not some idea only in modern literature, even when you look at old norse mythology, you see the same. and there are australian languages that put women in the same noun class as fire and other dangerous things. might be the man's jealousy over not having the ability to create new life on his own, women are scary things with the strong magic they all inherently carry.

in chapter 22 i think a lot of the uses of 'resurrect' should be replaced by 'reincarnate' because resurrection is the original body coming back to life while reincarnation is starting a new life, which is the meaning that they are implying there (but resurrect might still work for other bubbles)
