This kind of setting makes me remember Usagi Tsukino and Mamoru Chiba setting from Bishōjo Senshi Sērā Mūn or Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon.

 

If you saw the original Anime, Usagi Tsukino is helped by a masked man almost all episodes of the first season, that masked man is Manoru Chiba. Also she have an animal that gives her the powers, a cat named Luna. Here is a Mouse!
