So I think they are step siblings not related by blood.

You're just looking at the surface of his character, bashing on his flaws, and not observing the deeper issues/complexity of his character vs. Awaya Niki. I doubt the heroine likes him for "some lame reason", I think she's interested in him & vice versa because they seem to have similarities that we've yet to understand, even if they're unclear I'm sure there's more to it than you think. Part of that mystery which connects the two characters also adds to the romantic factor of this story as well.

Niki's bit of word play comes out much better in Japanese than in English. Puns are notoriously difficult to translate, no matter what two languages you are working between. We did what we could with it.

actually, I don't think this MC is that bad. He IS the president of a club after all, and he writes. His reactions towards Niki are a little stupid, true, but I really like to see them get together, because both of them feel a lot more complex than what they appear to be.

Look at all the smack talking, but I doubt you'd have rainbows and moonbeams shooting out of your asses if you had a debilitating heart condition like the MC has. Freaking sad sack of Monday morning quarterbacks.

Pick up almost any Dal-Young work and this MC is a freaking hero in comparison.

I do agree that the plot itself is all over the place though.

Tons of stuff developing, but it just isn't getting to that "spot". Each chapter keeps adding questions and nothing gets answered. Kinda tiring... but yeah, agreed with everyone, the MC is beyond pathetic.

Well, I like this chapter but I still wonder if they are blood related or not, in case they're brother & sister, why wouldn't he know he had a sister, where is she living and so.. Also it would be a forbidden relationship and I don't want that.

The last page of the chapter kind of tells me that maybe she learned about him when she saw him looking at her/the sky every time and searched for who he was so there are still probability they aren't blood related.

I think the MC was redeemed a bit in this current chapter (ch. 5). I thought he seemed pretty cool giving his umbrella and giving her a thumbs up lol.

But then he just had to believe the rumors right away, I still believe in him though!

I'm liking this so far both the main characters seem to have their own little unique quirks that make them different from typical main characters.

I wouldn't be as annoyed as I am if the MC could atleast possess some qualities that would redeem his weaknesses.

It would be one thing if he was weak, but had a strong will, was brave or something of that nature. Then there could be at least a justification for the romance.

Or maybe if he was incredibly passionate, determained and dedicated with his literature. That would warrent some attraction. I'm guessing where this is headed is that she likes the MC's writings or some lame reason, even then the MC is just incredibly weak when it comes to his commitment to anything.

His lack of drive, his insecure and self loathing personality is incredibly repulsive.
He's irredeemably pathetic, undeserving and unworthy.

You never know. It really depends on her own circumstances, of which at the moment we have no real idea. Awaya Niki is still very much a question mark in this series. She likes Hotaka, but we have no idea why.

Dear God, the MC is UNBEARABLE.

No women in the whole world can find such a pathetic, self loathing guy attractive.

Stories like these I BEG for NTR. Let another man thats worth a damn woo Awaya Nika and let them fall in love. NOT Hotaka, PLEASE!

I hope as the manga progresses, the MC actually mans the hell up and grow a pair of balls.
