@ Fennec Thank you for the heads up. I chicken out and skipped that story because I can't stand disgusting things like you described.

If you've read the Itou Junji Kyofu Manga Collection, you might recognize the salesman and his wife in the fourth story.

So cool!

For readers' convenience:

  • Blood-sucking Darkness starts on Page 6.
  • The Ghosts of Golden Time starts on Page 46.
  • Roar of Ages starts on Page 78.
  • Mystery of the Haunted House starts on Page 110.
  • Glyceride starts on Page 142. THIS ONE IS NOT HORROR, IT IS FREAKING DISGUSTING. AND I DON'T MEAN HORROR-DISGUSTING, I MEAN VOMIT-DISGUSTING. IF YOU HAVE A QUEASY OR WEAK STOMACH, DO NOT READ IT. Seriously, it has a graphic scene with a guy popping pimples over his sister's face so the white stuff oozes onto her. There are many people who claim this story made them vomit, taste bile, or avoid eating greasy foods for some time. It's just plain gross and disgusting. If you're curious, there's a Junji Ito wiki with a summary of the story—which I WISH existed when I read it.
  • The Earth-Bound People starts on Page 174.
  • Dead Man Calling starts on page 206.

Also, HOLY CRAP MYSTERY OF THE HAUNTED HOUSE IS FREAKIER THAN I REMEMBER. I jumped to a random page trying to find Glyceride's starting point and found one of the most disturbing images of the whole chapter... And even though I only saw the tops the rest of the pages were just as freaky. >_<
