Were these re-uploaded by the same person?

Not sure, but i think it was related to a server hiccup after the site crash yesterday. I noticed 2 or 3 other series that disappeared and popped up again after around the same time as the "re-upload".

rubi321 was the uploader but the upload date was from before the "re-upload".

The chapters have been taken down, but it wasn't me who dealt with it, I just reported it to the other mods.

Did you actually just upload scans of the official old western release, with a shitty Mangareader watermark on all the pages too?

Thanks for pointing the issue out in the comments. This was the comment that caught my eye.

I would like to suggest that you can make a post on the QA forums or post in the support channel in the Batoto discord server in the future.
Often times these issues slip the eyes of mods when they are in comments instead actually being reported.

why the watermarked low quality scans?

The title of the final chapter still make me laugh!

Better than the Mangafox watermark, in my opinion. At least you got decent scans.

  • Don't upload any RAWs. RAWs are copies, scans, or rips of material as published in their original source language and medium. That includes material that are published by English (re)publishers or any publisher that has not granted us rights. This means you should not upload original Japanese works (e.g., a scanned Shounen Jump magazine), original English works (e.g., a scanned copy of a Batman comic), or official English translations of a Japanese manga (e.g., something published by Dark Horse comics). We host fan creations and those who publish to Batoto, not copies of others' works.

Ooh, I don't think I've seen that one before. Thanks!

Also to anyone who hasn't heard, there's an actual anime series based off these stories coming out next month. They haven't confirmed WHICH stories will be adapted, but the Intersection Pretty Boy is hinted to be one of the possibilities.

LHOGRHOD... I just wasted an hour of my life reading 300+ pages of that. It is written so poorly, everyone but the main are dumber than trump supporters and the supernatural elements are weak and lackluster. Its exactly like in B horror films where everyone dies because they ignore multiple obvious warnings and signs for no reason and have the IQ of the amount of political experience trump has. But if gore is what you find scary and you dont mind shoving trash in your eyes then I guess in a neoliberal fantasy LHOGRHOD might be scary.

Ito on the other hand is weird (in the 'real' way!!!) but is at least cohesive and bearable at worst. Ito's art style is also cleaner and the writing is good. I didn't eat fish for a week and after several years my friends and I still make jokes about spirals. I really enjoy Ito's take on Japanese cultural memes about conformity and technology.

Of all the flavors in the world, you chose to be salty? Fucking hell man, you don't need to add political commentary into everything you say. Especially when the amount of political nuance you add is "ICKY YUCKY, HE BAD, WAAAAAAAAAH!!!!"

Just letting you know it's in poor taste, because I actually agree with you on that "horror" manga.

But trump win election.

I def agree about them not really being comparable. But, thanks to that first comment i went ahead and started reading LHOGRHOD and it's definitely much more terrifying than I had expected based on what few plain drawings I had seen of the characters before. Probably scarred for life now.

i love Itou Junji's art and stories, master of horror hehe he's one of my favorite author!

It is kinda unfair to compare Itou with the god of horror manga Kazuo Umezu, specially if it is this compilation being compared to one of Umezz's masterpieces LHOGRHOD.

Itou has some great horror manga like Gyo, Tomie, Uzumaki, Hell star Lemina, but the stories that are presented in here are more on the side of variety and drama, while some are indeed horror, but not always, well anyway, i find the comparison unfair, if this was Uzumaki and LHOGRHOD, i would understand, kinda, but i think the thing doesn't holds at all with this case.

The bronze statue one is just great. I love it when they turn out like that.

After the latest chapter, I feel like a comedy tag is in order...

Those stories aren't so scary. Left hand of god, right hand of the devil is more scary than this.

I thought I misread the chapter title "Memories of Real Shit" at first, laughed, reread it... ಠ_ಠ

It's hard to forget when shit gets real.

That lines about NSA... priceless.

The unresolved endings are one of Itou's trademarks, and a huge part of what makes his stories so scary. Notice how the horror is almost never defeated in his stories. The only way to survive is to run, and hope to God that by running fast enough and far enough, it won't come looking for you again.

I have an irrational fear towards severed heads and beheading methods - and that story, despite not having any real monstrous-looking characters, really creeped me out.

It takes mental strength to read multiple Itou stories in one sitting.

Arguably, the abrupt and unexplained endings are things that make a good horror story work. It gives readers a sense of suspense right up until the end. And it is also consistent with Itou's writing style. So far I only found Itou's Gyo to have some sort of a "good" ending.
