Yeah, I also could understand it if you would want to drop this one. From what you told us (seven more volumes? *blearg* Think of all the bullshit drama and the pain that will happen!), it sounds like it will get much more painful in the future. So....Thank you for giving us the opportunity to read it :D !!!

It wasnt that good time for me but you guys have made my day. THANK YOU! <3

As part of the scanlator group that worked all these years in this series, I can relate very well what you are discussing here.

PLG: I really understand all what you say, I feel Aciel as close as only the author can surpass me. Ive been questioning the plot of the series since months, since what comes next isn't close to my expectations were in the first volumes. About all the knighthood issues, I could only deal with them by mixing the Occidental old Knighthood with Japanese culture about Bushido, using a bad blender machine and so getting a final outcome quite distorted. Anyway, shojo has a lot of licenses and even historically it was not accurate.

Gale: XDD that part of  "after spending so much time painting knights and chivalry as cool and heroic, to suddenly swerve this hard" REALLY i thought it before! The author did so much work, for the Lord of the Rings sake, how much does it take to draw a 16 century Galleon ship... And we have this. I agree. And you haven't seen the rest.

That was my main problem with this manga, too. Like I get it that you want to paint a fluffy world with shiny knights - duty- love and not to forget - honorable enemies etc. but...... uhm no. At that time someone just ought to die. The world wasn't and still isn't such a nice and forgiving place. You have to make you mind up what kind of story you want to create. Sometimes, I think a fictional place/world would have suited the story better or at least what the author tried to do here.

It wasnt that good time for me but you guys have made my day. THANK YOU! <3

Was that teaser serious about this series going on for another seven volumes? Jesus Christ, I was certain it was building up to a finale. And it somehow manages to get even worse from here? Yeah, no thanks, I will 100% support your dropping it, even if it wasn't entirely by choice. What a mess.

If you wanted to give us a brief spoilery summary of how the story is supposed to end, I'd appreciate it for sure, but either way, I'm fine with stopping it here. Thanks for all your hard work, over the years. This was an amazing manga, right up until it wasn't.

Oh but, um, by the way--thanks for releasing all the chapters, Zica team!

I probably wouldn't be so peeved about this arc if I wasn't so fond of the Aciel character as previously established, big and bold and unstoppable.

This manga sure is doing its best to convince me that the knightly honour system is a bunch of useless festering garbage. It's a weird turnaround, after spending so much time painting knights and chivalry as cool and heroic, to suddenly swerve this hard into "Hahaha, psych, it's actually morally bankrupt, totally arbitrary, and devoid of any consistent redeeming value". I mean, that's the intended message, right? The author can't possibly think all this honour and knighthood bullshit means anything, at this point? Not after its been used to justify such incredibly awful things? Eurgh. What a miserable way to end a story.

History spoilers (???)

Spoiler

Cesia: I researched those facts long ago, and that character is historically incorrect since he was quite older by that time. So he wasn't a handsome young guy. Things that only happen in shojo mangas ;) Although, I learnt a lot about history and CHEESE i was so SO hoping that the manga ended with the siege of Malta... Such an incredible part of history and I'm starting to think that's not allowed to be described in movies, miniseries or mangas. Only in some very specialized history books. Malta Knights were so brave and the huge Ottoman Empire had no reason to make a bad role in it...  Despite having all that material at hand, the author dedicated 3.5 volumes to... stuff not related. Not even related to tangled love liaisons. *SIGH*

Said that, I must end this saying that I really wanted to work the coming volume, since it has an interesting development before falling in that bottomless (or should I say honor-less?) hole of dullness, but no helpers and no willing to work made us not finish the last volume released as it should: last chapters had no proofreading nor quality check. No honor, indeed. As it was stored for months, I released it as it was, being very sorry for it.

Here our release note for you if interested.

Here the "not" teaser that wasn't released.

Thank you for all your comments, again. Made me want to write all this.

Yeah.  Really, this arc is pissing me off more the longer it goes on.  And what rots my socks most of all is all the Maltesers acting like Suleiman wasn't being revolting human trash and going "Ohhh, you're so wise, you're so nice, you're so knightly!"

The writer wants to have this fraught situation but can't bear that anyone with a speaking role should be less than admirable or that the situation should actually be anyone's fault, so we get this ridiculous dodging around and excuse-making for an act that is not only objectively horrible, but is even more horrible in terms of the morals of the times.  Not that a sultan might not have done it--certainly he might.  But his enemies wouldn't have bent themselves into pretzels pretending it was benevolent and wise.

We are dancing in a Liebesreigen~ La, la, la~

Uff, this manga was always very cheesy, but this crap just takes the cake.

Worse still, I really hate the way this whole thing is treating Aciel as a character.  So now she's

This whole section of plot leaves me ambivalent.  On one hand, it's beautifully dramatic and all.  On the other

So, sultan--terrible, duplicitous host.

The small font.... December.... D;

Ah!  So much fun!  And Fréville sounds sooo much better than Fredwill.  Nice translation upgrade there.

. . . Is anyone else here?

Woo!  Latest chapter delivers the goods.  And the preview at the end . . . looks like there'll be juicy stuff coming up.

Much thanks to Zica team!

Hello.  My name is Aciel Joan de Fredwill.  You killed my father.  Prepare to die!

SPOILER IF YOU HAVEN"T READ TO CHAPTER 18!!!!!!

OMG! Thanks Zica Team for updating 3 whole chapters! I cant believe Aciel has a 20 inch waist. That's sooooo small. The pirate who killed her dad is kind of growing on me. He seems interesting and makes me go KYAAA when he cuts Aciel's shirt, compliments her boobs and admits he wouldn't be able to resist if he checked her lower half. LOL However, Aciel, as much as I really love her personality, she does not look beautiful in women's clothing. >_< The art style just too.....masculine?

Thanks for the new chapter!

Could be.  Although it's somehow hard to imagine.

I loved the little side bit at the end.  Hilarious!

I'm wondering if our heroine won't suffer the first defeat in this arc, I think it would make sense.

So Hercules is--um--not exactly a psychopath, because he does feel affection for some people and it seems sincere.  But still, he'd killed over a hundred people by the time he was in his mid teens, and loves the rush of slaughter; killing makes him smile winsomely from boyish pleasure.

And yet there's no real contest:  Aciel's the bigger personality, the stronger fighter, the leader.  Among some serious badasses, our heroine has no rival.

So basically you're saying he has ASPD?
And thanks a lot for the new chapter Zica Team!!!
Man, i rlly love the way Aciel flirts with Lucas. Its always a nice change of pace seeing characters that dont instantly fall for each others advances but instead have a relationship that gradually becomes more. Not to mention the fact that Aciel has all the character traits that i love in a protagonist :)

Well it's not a harem for nothing! She has the bigger pair figuratively speaking.

She might find enemies that could be considered rival(s) ( the pirate that killed her father might be one of those ).

But I think that in the Knights she will stay on top... stay strong Lucas.

It chapters like these that make me want a sibling :(

Thanks for the new chapter Zica team :)

She's become a much better leader lately.

Also, she pulls off the "Hero massively thickheaded about romance" schtick very charmingly.

Thanks for the update Zica!

Y'know, technically it isn't a gender bender.  The MC never actually pretends to be a man, she just acts manly, dresses manly, and whoops males' butts.  But she's open about not actually being one.

I like it.  The art's a bit stiff.  And the whole thing is maybe a tiny bit overdone; the MC is too cool, too perfect, things work out for her too simply.  It ought to bug me.  But somehow it doesn't; there's something about her character that draws me in, this larger-than-life "Archangel Gabriel" with her amazing swordswomanship and her manly confidence and her allergy to dresses (no, literally).
