don't worry. after seeing hard copies of certain serieses, even i have to cringe at the extremely terrible translation and proofreading, and we're talking about pros that do stuff like that for a living! they gert paid to do it, and they manage to fuck it up worse than ppl who do scanlations for free! oh the humanity!

Actually that is exactly human nature. People who do things for a hobby usually have a passion for what they are doing otherwise they wouldn't be doing it so naturally they're going put some extra effort into their work for that personally satisfaction. Where the 'pros' are only doing so to collect their paycheck every week or however often they get paid therefor their effort has no impact on their reward so they'll only put in as much effort to get paid and also not get fired and we end up with sub-par official translations.

Im honestly baffled at the very low quality of the licensed series, not the quality of the writing or drawing, but the quality of the images themselves and the translations. Like, groups that translate stuff for free manage to get a much better quality for everything, a lot not getting payed anything or with measle $100 donations a month, yet these series, which are supposed to be official releases, manage to make scans from manga made over 15 years ago which are literally someone scanning a manga magazine and making a poor attempt of editing with Paint look like profesional work. I just cant process why the source sends these poor jpgs in which you can count the total pixels of it without using Photoshop or a program like it, with a translation that I bet my neck was made by copying the script onto Google Translate and doing the lazyiest typesetting work I've seen, for fucks sake I have translated doujins by myself and is not fucking hard to put some effort into it. I really hope it was the authors aproaching Batoto and offering them the rights to publish their work for free, because paying for these scans is a scam.

So, is feature licensed series basically a paid promotion?

I'm literally laughing at how bad the translation is. Too funny XD

"Translations" my ass, this is worse than google translate.

Good job Batoto for shilling this fail.

Jesus, I thought this was an exaggeration, but it isn't, the translation on this thing is BEYOND awful. I mean, "Don't refuse a toast only to drink a forfeit" is an actual translation on the first page. It actually looks like this was done using Paint and Google Translate. Even when the main character dodges that punch, the sound effect bubble says "Go away". Come on, a preschooler could do better

Somebody please continue the translations! :o

Holy fuck this gets dark. (Reading the raws)

Guess this is what happens when an author goes in depth on why or how the evil in people's hearts comes about.

Edit:
Just finished all released chapters up till now. (33 chapters, which is the whole of part 1)

Author really doesn't hesitate to pull punches. Shit gets serious when shit gets serious.

There's some character development, though not very prominent as the series is plot/action based.

Plot is good, follows a clear line of logic where you won't get confused.

The art is really well done for the series, switching between serious and lax tones while maintaining a consistent art style.

Nuanced humor is great.

Would definitely recommend for a read. Too bad it's not translated.

Where did you even find the raws?

Nvm, Found them by googling the chinese name.

So yeah, why is this always featured when it's never updated?

This is constantly featured but never updated...

thanks for uploads . i love this hope i see more :D

Holy shit the translations on this are terrible

You can hit me as a proofreader for this series, PM me if you're interested. My Mandarin is decent, though I can't read Chinese characters. You'll have to hit me with the pinyins!

nice manhwa, if only the size is reduced and this will be perfect

i don't really mind about grammar, as long as i understand the story

goddamn I actually read some of this on danbooru and it is fucking GOOD but has a bunch of 'censored' chapters and I've only read some previews of it due to booru owner being a greedy shit so dropped it and waited for a proper release; the atrocious translations are definitely NOT doing it justice please for the love of God fix it please

Is this translated or just someone using bad English directly. Either way, the English is atrocious. You need a proof reader or something.

Why is featured stuff always so bad? Maybe because the license fees are low?

Oversized images & giant jpeg artifacts.

Someone needs a new job.

I see this is supposedly "licensed" by batoto. But those translations are actually the official ones?

Well, I suppose it may be. Yes, I think much in the same way that this is an official dub.

Remember, "official" does not mean "good" or even fundamentally "authentic", it just means "authorized". In fact it means about as little as does "professional" (which just means some bloke was paid for the work).

Spoiler

FWIW I'd always rather have an absurdly bad translation than no translation at all. What a beautiful Duwang.

Needs a jpeg artifact tag. And took forever to load with my internet

Well I can handle the translation grammar, but the explosive (heh) sized scans are overwhelming.

Other than that, it's a fun read.

In Japan, it's often seen as feminine to eat sweets. That's why Ranma always turned into a girl when he wanted to have one.

Think about it. What's the last manga you read where a guy is enjoying a chocolate parfait?

While this work is Chinese, and I don't know much about the Chinese stance on sweet things, if I were to make a (poor) estimate based off of personal experience, over 50% of Japanese men will say they don't like sweet things. Not even stuff like ice cream. Actually, a somewhat notable number of women also say that, although they're not nearly as common. There's a ton of products marketed in Japan as 大人(おとな)X, or "Adult's X." For example, Adult's Kirin Lemon (vs regular Kirin Lemon soda), or even some chocolates. The products contain neither alcohol nor provocative images, so they're referring to the flavor. Sometimes, they'll literally say "Adult's Flavor" on the package. Typically, it's either a bit less sweet or a bit more bitter, although you sometimes can't even tell the difference. They can also be more expensive for less weight/volume.

Here's an example of "Adult's Mushroom Mountain" and "Adult's Bamboo Shoot Village":
