If you want a less dark and much more whimsical take on Jomon culture check out Ueshiba Riichi's work Yume Tsukai
Actually it's more about Shintoism and even mentions Jomon culture which is much, much older.
But damn, it was such awesome story until ch. 6 then
...so that's the end, huh? Overall, I thought it was pretty neat. Buddhism and Hinduism can be terrifying, lol. I did like that religious/historic aspect.
What an ending though. A savior with no one left to save.

This is the sad story of Chicken George. It's... something. I guess.
I don't think the artwork for The Dark Myth is quite as bad, but they do both remind me of Jack Chick's obnoxious pamphlets.
