First off, thank-you Phoenix Serenade for continuing to upload to the end so to speak. As for this chapter, even though it was harsh, I can't blame Takane for his reaction at the end there. No one wants to show their weak side (particularly to the person they like), and for any adult it would feel like a blow to their pride to have to depend on a teenager, and even more so for someone who has an abundance of pride like Takane. Still, poor Hana-chan, she just wants to help. Can't wait for more developments, so I'm also curious about Riflow's question about where chapters will be uploaded after shutdown.

I'm currently reading Soredemo Sekai wa Utsukshii, and I just wanna mention that some of the artstyles, like the chibis, reminded me of Takane here (before i checked that the mangakas are different).

OMG My heart melted when, down to his last money, Takane still thought of buying Hana a bouquet. Reminds me of my BF back when we were both still struggling high school students, Twelve years later, he's still just as thoughtful and sweet, I can't imagine marrying anyone but him. <3

I have to admit that I myself pretty much stopped with bouquets once we had kids.  Man, we were skint for a while . . . spending my money on frivolous stuff for my love is fine when I'm living on my own, but once there's someone we're responsible for, gotta be a bit more careful.  Well, on the other hand, started a bit more of that sort of thing again now that we've got the mortgage paid off.

While Gramps screwed up by raising Takane to be the way he currently is, it's nice to see him realize that he's spoiled Takane too much.  Pretty heavy-handed rehab, but this will provide a way for Takane to relate to Hana better.  In the long run, would be fun to see Takane develop and mature from a commoner's standpoint.  And if he really is as brilliant as he seems, he'll have no problems rising up.

His fucking piece of shit grandpa just takes away all his money under the guise of "I gave it to you". But he didn't. Takane earned that cash himself, slaving away his time. He was a great asset to the company, great boss, stayed overtime a lot etc. He couldn't even learn to do anything else because he was forced to work there since his youth.
 
I'm disappointed.

I'd appreciate the spoilers >< (if it's not too much trouble at least, since it shouldn't be a problem long as it has the spoiler tag thing on it) ~~~~~~~~ I knew this kind of scenario would happen and all it did was make me laugh. This author has a great way of twisting expectations. If it allows for more sweet moments I'm all in though :3

You know, if Takane works for the zaibatsu type company he seems to, he might not have a personal bank account he can access and might not get a salary uncontrolled by his grandfather.  He definitely seems like he was raised in the type of wealthy family that never worried about the balance of the account.  I remember a trust fund kid in college who didn't know what "account balance" meant.

On another note, I don't think Takane will be slowed down too much by things unless he gets kicked out of his house and is forced to move in with Hana.  I think he's started to be able to appreciate things that money can't buy.  Can you imagine the Takane we met in Ch 1 eating Hana's screw-up cupcake?

The real drama will come if Takane has lost his job and is left to his own devices.

He shouldn't be all that poor, dude works like 60 hours a week at some sort of high level management position. Unless he's no longer getting a salary, he should still be at "buy a new Mercedes every year" level rather than "buy a new Ferrari every month". 

Yeah like regardless if his father's still the one running the company, he's still a goddamn executive. He should have absurd amounts banked away. I get the feeling this is gonna be a really contrived plot arc, which is a bit disappointing given I've found the series fairly refreshing compared to a lot of others in a similar style & genre.
