The first volume was really good. It's not light reading but it is very good. Actually it reminds me a bit of The Ravages of Time meets Full Metal Alchemist.... it's set in an alternate history of the time leading up to WWII but from a very different perspective than I was taught since it's coming from Japanese and Chinese history and folklore and mythology. It is really good if you llke complex stories and can read a higher level.
My expression when I saw all the info pages... All that history went flying over my head.
So is this manga alt of around WWII. Blood Pearl is the new "god" of life and somehow the kid has been dragged into this because of the train crash? And the clan this god of life is from is being hunted down because they are witches? And there are OP supernatural monsters eating humans, so humans make Mechs to combat them?
Can someone please explain what this is about lol... History isn't my strong point.

I appreciate the effort put in to making the world seem more realistic and workable, but... this is nuts.
