Knowing this artist, the middle-aged artist was once the world champion at karate and retired, or was a hitman who is in hiding from the mob and has a basement full of guns, or something coincidental like that. And the kid will synchronize perfectly with a legendary sacred weapon held by the government in secret, or maybe fall through the hole in time that the plane did and turn into a 25-year-old badass.

 

Nah... What will happen is that the author will introduce a new character right in the nick of time...

 

...A senile old pervert who will open his shabby trench coat and flash his age-shriveled genitalia at both the house and all of the monsters within, and the monsters will laugh so hard at the sight that they will not only laugh themselves to death, but convulse so violently that the house itself will collapse and be destroyed.

 

Hey! Why is everybody looking at ME!? I swear that the author did NOT use ME as the model for this new character!!! It is just a coincidence that the author named this new character [チャック].

 

Besides, I am nothing like that character... I don't even OWN a trench coat!

I get the feeling all four of them are going to team up.  I wonder how middle aged artist and normal kid will be of any benefit, though.

I like how you feel that all the evils in the world lives in the mansion. It's kind like all horror stories happened in this house.

I am following this, definitely.

So two government official that were spooked when they were kids, a boy on a missing plane 45 years ago, some priestess, and a ten year old all come to the conclusion to tear down a house that only three have any association with.  I stubbed my toe, Souboutei must be destroyed!

First chapter reads like three different manga spliced together.

On the translator's note at the end: old buildings in China and Japan (I assume Korea as well) will have the name on the sign written "backwards". Writing left to right wasn't really done in East Asia until Western culture started making inroads.

Ch.1 page 7 nearly gave me a heart attack.

Bizarre, not the haunted house or the demon hunter kid but all the part with the creepy artist.

 

But hey, its a manga by Fujita Kazuhiro so it would probably become great after a bunch of episodes.
