Neuro is quite easily one of the hottest guys around in the manga/anime world.
I liked this series more than I thought I would.
This is one of my favorite manga of all time. Sadly there is no official english translation or I would have brought ever single volume the moment it came out ( sadly I can´t read Japanese... ).
On another note,
does someone have the entire scanlation for this series, I lost my entire collection when my computer and extern hardest died. There is a couple of series I want to try and get back but mangatraders are gone and a lot of the groups that were working on this are goneEdit:
The new manga traders has it.Neuro is life~~
Man, I keep coming back to this manga. It's probably one of my favorite series to date. Neuro is love~
Wow. I saw this manga when Assassination Classroom came out, and I passed it over. I am so glad I came back.
I wanted to know a lil bit of Akane's past... :'( I guess that will be forever a mystery.
Hetalia makes America a stereotype but it's less overtly negative, playful, and it pokes fun at everyone equally. This is a long nosed, racist, hamburger loving, gun touting, law suit threatening, nature hating caricature. Also pretty sure there was a thinly veiled commentary on US international policy?
The character was just in jest so it's not too big a deal, though it is a little over the top (I could say that for most of the murderers' warped states). The good news in this case is that it's so incredibly offensive that I find it too ridiculous to take seriously, which is probably intentional. Plus at the end they pretty much say "It's not because he's American, he's just a douche".
The virus didn't cause any of the murders before the otaku one.
Also, just because a lot of Americans make offensive racial caricatures doesn't excuse someone from another country doing it. You also can't assume that the people who found this offensive are somehow complicit with racism in American media. If you treat 300 million people as a single entity then everyone's a hypocrite.
This is a masterpiece, just like everyone says, if you don't mind stereotypes. Just ignore the stereotypes and you'll be fine.
This series is just awesome.

I really liked this series, but it feels like Matsui's protagonists are all pretty similar. Especially the hairstyles.
I wasn't gonna say anything about the gross portrayals of "ugly Americans", with Cyrano de Bergerac noses and pathological gun obsessions. My trigger for saying something was in chapter 84. The aircraft carrier is the 2nd "Wilkes Booth Class" carrier, "Harvey Oswald". The killers of U.S. Presidents Lincoln and Kennedy, respectively. As a pacifist 'inversion' perhaps it is an effective device.
edit: The over-the-top take on westerners in those early-middle chapters didn't continue. Later non-Japanese villains were more in keeping with the tone of the rest of the manga.
HAHAHAHA...Time to read Tzeentch's early days.
I thoroughly enjoyed this series. It was very funny and enjoyable to read. Plus, the ending is quite excellent. I may go so far as to say it is one of the best I have read so far in that regard. If you are by chance wondering whether you should read the series, then I would at the very least give it a shot. It definitely earned that comedy tag.
So if Americans do stereotyping to Asians Arabs African and so on no body particularly care like it's normal but if it's Asians doing stereotyping to america everybody goes wild also watch hetalia everybody is being stereotype their including america who likes burgers France being kinda gay(or romantic) also England who likes tea china who has a cute panda and so on(also have you watch family guy, american dad, and Simpson please they do the stereotyping or should i say racism better than that chapter i still watch it tho cause i keep an open mind)
Stop being butthurt and get over it.
I think you missed the point. I'll pop it in spoilers in case anybody's not got to the reveal, yet.
Granted, none knew enough to realise that at the time... and you need to sit and think a bit when it is revealed to work it out.
Man, I disagree, but compared to *this* - certainly.
"Everyone in my country only eats hamburgers and barbecue.".. really? Bloody hell, writers.
Good manga otherwise. I'm not even American, but that sort of idiotic, insulting portrayal is just uncomfortable to read. (It's actually much worse than just the above quote, but it was so cringeworthy I could not bear to read that chapter and had to skip it.)
In Detective Conan, the americans are pretty...normal. Really. Almost no stereotypes.
The transition from full mystery to mystery-battle manga was done skillfully, I'd say. And that ending... It was perfectly executed. This is what happens when the author is allowed to end it when he sees it.
My only claim is they forget about Acane mistery - well, nothing's perfect....
