Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei - Kyuukousen-hen

There's a variety of reasons, I'm sure, but the main reason I dislike it is because

1) it cockteases oreimo-style affection and sexualizes the sister to enforce that, but will never make that a key point in the plot (and indeed, will never actually develop into anything)

2) "too perfect" waters down the real problem: an overpowered main character is boring. This is a power fantasy that teases hints of harem potential, but that's literally all it's good for. Remember how awful Re:Monster is?

3) Pretty much no character dynamics whatsoever. Everyone is more or less the same character they were when they were introduced, even on the...this is what, the third arc now?

1) At least from what I've seen from the LN, this is totally false. It even becomes the main plot point of vol. 16 and is apparently pivotal to the following arc. Unless you have further knowledge from the LN, I'd say you're wrong on this one.

2) Weak-ass protagonists who only win because "chosen one" or Deux Ex Machina or something are worse IMO. The satisfaction of an OP MC is not having to endure untouchable villains gloating in the heroes' faces for a dozen volumes. Here, you try to fuck up with the MC, you get your just deserts. Additionally, powerful MCs can be used to bring up more rarely used plot points, like the political consequences of being a national military asset.

3) 2nd arc only, actually. Can't disagree totally on this one, though some characters do change a fair bit - Hanzo, Lina, Honoka, Shippo... But that comes later, in their 2nd and 3rd year. Remember not much time has passed since the beginning of the series in-universe at this point, a few months at best.

You were correct to put down "I dislike it" since one and two are subjective reasons.

I despise the act of incest, so them never really boinking makes this better for me.

I happen to love OP MCs, and I enjoy Re: Monster as something similar to a 4 Koma or comic strip, but in regular manga format.

The only thing I can relate to is character growth, but I still enjoyed most of the LN after the anime portion,

Not exactly. It has been explained in the start of the "series" that Japan is pretty strong magicwise thanks to arranged marriages. At least I do remember reading it somewhere if not at the beginning.

While this is correct, the arranged marriages don't really come into play until after they graduate. Hell, the marriages part also comes into play in the novel, so you get to read about it.

Am i the only one that thinks that this story would be much more interesting without God-Onisama?

At least Naruto was good at only ONE thing for 1/3 of the story, and two or three things for another third before turning into God.

He isnt even good in hiding his powers, since he gets discovered every time. 

 

The background story is interesting enough, but then he comes, flicks his fingers and everything is solved without much pathos. Spoiler from the anime follow

Are there three magic riddles that are lasting since magic was re-discovered? Here he comes and solves two in a month and a half. Is there an armored regiment incoming? he wipes away, no swet on his eyebrows. Is there an enemy fleet preparing to invade? No problem he wipes it away together with the port for good measure.

 

I hope a kryptonite of his will come in play really fast or it will grow old. 

He was meant as a goddamn, f˙cking doomsday device that even gets hated by his own creators. He lacks emotions almost completly so there are a lot of conversational things he doesn't understand, its just hasn't been really showed in the manga. He also doesn't just solve those riddles under months, he has been studying magic engineering since he was a child.

That's the plan... but without a dedicated translator (the previous one left...) we will still be playing catch up with the raws. 

I just thought, and it's really for the first time even after watching the animu and reading the LN, that Mikihiko is just like Katsura from Gintama - "Miki jenai, Mikihiko desu!"

I've read the LN and watched the Anime I don't know why I'm still excited for the next release but I am haha.

I love the details that the manga version explain, it gives a good taste into my mind.

Silver Horns are not Silver Taurus' personal weapons. They are just a rare and limited edition product of Silver Taurus. That means a few people out there may be wielding the same CADs as Tatsuya's (in appearance at least).
