I find it deliciously ironic how this very manga could be the "last push" for some people, who would identify with the protagonist - but miss out on the whole Manic Pixie Dream Girl scenario.
It's interesting how varied the reactions to this are.
I don't know, I thought the two were rather inextricably entwined.
I don't think that way,though.
Not everyone is suicidal, but suicide is the answer to many problems/questions you run in at life [not the right answer but there are so many things that can't be undone and catastrophies turning your life into a stage play-tragedy that there is no right and wrong left], so mixing up being suicidal with thoughts pointing towards suicide could easily make you judge this manga wrong.
"Last One" could also point towards "last misconception on suicide", as it's hinted towards throughout the story:
I think it's a nice work and good read, very well suited for 3-4 out of 5 stars even if it's just a one shot
Yeah, I mean... There's a ton of individual reasons why people commit suicide, especially in a society like Japan's. Cute story, weird vibe.
Aside from that cruel plan at the start, the story was pretty good.
the story is actually good, but it's like there's two different thing mixed and unmatched ="=
I don't know if something like that can push a teenager like that (we know Japan has high rates about it), but it would better if either the 2nd plot (the reason of 1st one) is heavier, or the 1st plot (which opening the 2nd plot's concept) is lighter and more fun.
Yh, true. He wasn't really in the correct state of mind anyways. But had she known? He only told her that afterwards. To her (had she rejected him) he wasn't anyone to think deeply about
Nah the main conflict was suicide cause of him giving up on his dream now that is resolved their is no room for a story he also got a GF.
You know... you're kinda right now that I think about it. But c'mon, someone who's already thinking of throwing himself in front of a speeding train can't be expected of making the most considerate decisions, right?
Guy's kind of a dick. He would've been happy to have a complete stranger blame themselves for his suicide
Would really love to see this get serialized!
Lovely short story.
MAKE MORE.
The grand prize winner for this batch of entries (the contest happens 4 times a year so I'm talking specifically about the Spring 2016 Four Seasons Award) was scanlated by us. It's called Furenai Koibito by Matsukawa Nao.
There's also the following, which was also scanlated by us:
If you check out the releases of Atelier du Noir, Mercy by Shiki Kouyuu was another winner (but at a different season. winter 2016 I think), Like a Laika was another winner (2010 not sure about the season) and our other latest release, Kokenoshima, is another one (2010 not sure of the season). There's also Hana no Shinzou done by Lovely Strange Dark.
I wonder what the other entries are like tho.
Because not everyones opinion is the same.
Story is weak IMO.
I wonder how it got awards.
I can't really relate to the character himself because my life's been pretty easy, but the manga was still very moving.
I can relate so well it's like looking into a mirror except with different hobbies and no girlfriend.
