aaa please, I need the rest of this
Same, but those gals are interesting. Maybe it's the protags way of breaking out. Or in general for japanese young girls and women. A gal's appearance is noisy and the japanese society doesn't like noisy things. Especially coming from any female.
Argh, I hope the rest gets scanlated. Hijiri-sensei's works are always unique and a pleasure to read.
Deep currents are coming up to drag the characters under . . . really not what I was expecting when I started reading this. But in a good way.
I get this feeling the mangaka started out to do this lighthearted thing about these gals solving crimes and then the characters came to life, took over and started dragging the story along and the mangaka's like "What? What?!"
imho from what I see, nii has unresolved troubling issues with his family and ririko got drag into the situation. He's still not cutting off or breaking off with ririko, as he felt domineering position towards ririko(he wants his dad whom fond of ririko to acknowledge him). As long as this situation prolongs, ririko is at a situation where she is pulled along to his whims and fancies. He, his father , ririko and the rest of their families should honestly and openly communicate and resolved the issues once and for all. And then, ririko and nii imho should go their separate ways and pursue their own happiness.
I am very sad T^T this great manga is so underated
No way! Half Baked scans is gone? and we're so close to the end! agh...either batoto forums are down or the scanlator really is gone. (googled with no luck as well...) such a promising story but such a fate is sad....
I don't really see her winding up with Nii, he doesn't take her seriously or know how smart she is, while the other guy is realizing this.
tohukyo, i get what u say, chap 10 is a clear example of that, but still i dont know why im still waiting for more Nii and Ririko panels >_<
I like this, Nii obviously has a woman but I don't like how he hasn't broken off the engagement yet with Ririko. If anything, Ririko is more fit to be with Donoue especially how he isn't all straight up like Nii which is kind of ironic considering how Nii is so serious that he won't jump to conclusions but with Donoue, he clearly has some prejudice thoughts that hinder him from getting the job done so everyone's happy. But of course, both guys can't beat Ririko and her sense of justice and understanding. It's obvious Nii won't be her happy ending.
As for the gal style. This story in terms of the whole gal and police interaction is similar to the very shoujo manga GALS! However I like the depth of this manga better. GALS! is more of a light read for humor with a more "easier on the eyes" shoujo style (of the 90s) but this one weaves in and out between depth and humor (not surprised by this mangaka at all).
I like the other new detective better than Nii though.... Seems he knows how to get to her, I wonder about Nii's warning cause he is warning her about the other guy but he never seems serious that she is his fiance at all to me.
Donna Donna - lol - that brings back memories my best friend used to sing that all the time - it's a sad Yiddish song about a calf watching a swallow.
I dont mind the gal style at all in this one - and the mc is a pretty tough smart girl with good instincts. I keep hoping she will become a cop herself.
man im starting to hate this, no more nii, only a few panels and the new guy is taking more and more panels with Ririko >_<
wahh it's pretty good
Really, the whole Gal thing generally turns me off. But the way the characterization is done is interesting; even as they're still kind of "Omigawd, makeup!" it gives me a sympathy for their point of view.
Huh. Normally, I don't read much josei, but this isn't bad at all.
I keep wondering what's going to happen if/when he finally finds out what she's really like. If he can get over the shock, it might actually help--be harder to think of her as a little sister, that's for sure.
This is a lot more interesting than I was expecting.
Poor Ririko. I always feel so bad about these kinds of one sided loves. I hope she isn't hurt too badly.
So that's who the knights have been talking about all this time.
