The Darwin's Beetle, when seeking to mate, will climb up a tall tree. Along the way, he'll use his giant mandibles to battle other beetles, where the victor throws the loser off of the tree to the ground below (non-fatal, as they have armor). When the beetle finds a female, they will battle and mate, after which the male Darwin Beetle will usually throw the female off of the tree as he continues on his merry way.

I have not heard of spiky genitalia or a 'scooping vagina' in this mating ritual, fear rating 2/10.

Paging Bondage Fairies, Bondage Fairies to the white courtesy phone please.

This is why we have pesticides.

AH-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA!!!

I've heard the phrase, "Money talks." before, but this is the first time that I've heard 'money' call someone an asshole!!!

I not so much have entomophobia as much as I have a deep, underlying phobia of anything about insect reproduction, is what I learned from this first chapter.
