Yes; "Initial D: Final Stage" shows off Takumi's race against Shinji. After the end of that, it shows an epilogue of sorts that leaves relatively happy closure on the main characters.

Also, the extra chapter was already an OVA 1 hour long thing... Initial D Extra Stage. There's also a Extra Stage 2 also following the same people.

ah, yeah i already knew about  Extra Stage, but thank you for that piece of information as well. 
It's weird that it's brought out in the final volume of the manga even though the ova has been out for a while. 

You'd think it would have been added into a volume a long time ago.

Oh, and seeing the extra chapter i cannot stress enough just how dumb Iketani was to dump Maho. Dumbest character ever.

This was one of the first manga I read. I lost track of it somewhere in the thick of Project D's endless battles, but I had to see how it ends. Honestly, I was pretty satisfied with the Ryosuke vs Takumi and then the Mako arc as a finale. After that Mitsu Evo team, it all just sort of blurred together.

 

The ending was... a little plain, but I found it fitting for some reason. It was closure and back to daily life. Leaves it open for a sequel too, I imagine. Though, I certainly hope the author takes his sweet time before starting, because damn, those 8 page chapters with practically nothing going on, should not make a reappearance.

They are in a loop...a while loop...while the author doesn't want it to end recursively add the mountain to itself.

after seeing the raws, i think the ending was pretty rushed or inconclusive. i guess an epilogue would be nice..showing what happened with each character a few months or years after the ending. what happened to mogi, mika and takumi or iketani and mako. did tatsumi ever beat his father? or if takumi and keisuke or ryosuke ever had a rematch.

At the end, Takumi was cruising down Akina with his dad's (now his, probably) Impreza, when a red 86 (not a Corolla, the new one made in collaboration with Subaru) passes on the other side of the road, implying a new rival (who's race with Takumi we won't ever get to see). To those who've seen the manga's end, was this scene present, or was that just put there as a tribute to the Trueno?

huh didn't realize this ended last year, looks like only 2 volumes are left. No idea on that stuff.

 

seriously they need an abridged version of this... for a manga about car racing sure alot of car theory going around.
