I know this is one of the all time most popular shoujo ever.  Lots of people think it's the most amazing thing since Kare Kano.  And, I love, love, love Cat Street by the same mangaka.

But I just couldn't get into this.  I read through a moderate number of chapters thinking it would have to be awesome because Cat Street, and it had its moments, but it just didn't fit with me or something.  I ended up running out of steam and never finishing it.

I think also one of the central conceits didn't work for me.  I'll agree it's innovative and non-stereotypical, but

I love this manga - in fact this and Cat Street by the same mangaka are really must read shoujos!
I love the way she writes characters with personality.

don't take my comment that serious, I know that's a fictional manga, isn't it the reason why we love to read mangas and watch dramas? But I find some events in this plot a bit to serious to count as jokes, they are heavy. Like in those mangas that only focus on mobbing and related crimes.

@ Hanan-chan It's a shojo manga, if you want seriousness concerning bullying you'll find that in a seinen manga. What makes this whole thing work is Makino and Domyouji, they have both remain pretty original characters despite the tons of shojo manga created through the years. They're both strong, headstrong, and likeable characters.

I've watched all of the dramas; The Japanese, Taiwanese, and Korean versions. My favorite is the Korean one. And if you want to know why it's the best shojo manga ever, u could give one of the dramas a try.

yeah um that juxtaposition of realistic situations with the ridiculous is usually what we call comedy

I skimed through the manga a bit cause of your comments but I don't see what's so special about it. I understand it is pretty old and must be original in it's time or something, but to me the fundament of the whole story is pretty ridiculous. I still don't get why the whole student body gets away committing serious crimes just because they are rich, teachers looking away. Thank god in reality people will get their deserved punishment for these actions.

This is if not my favorite, on of my all time favs shoujo manga!! If you are into Shoujo this IS A MUST!! a classic, at the beginning, since its an old manga, the art is not very appealing but it gets better through time, and the story in itself is good enough to read!! I'm so glad this is being finally uploaded to Batoto!!
