The missing chapters and the weird ordering sort of confused me, I hadn't read this series in a long time, so it was hard to catch up and I skimmed a lot of it. The only question I have is
Am I reading this right? The final loophole is to just say "lol, I win, virgin" and the guy gets so disheartened he gives up? They didn't even do anything. I liked the premise of this story but, by god, at least TRY to stick to some sort of rules. There were so many loopholes that the story stopped being about cleverness and just throwing in twist after twist.
No idea but they're out there. Definitely worth tracking down as chapter 14 gives us the dog's backstory.
Edit - I said that but even so there's a lot of chapters missing and some chapters out of order here. We're missing 18a-21a and 21b is currently loading after 22, followed by 22b being missing. Lots of slaves have changed hands in those chapters apparently. Some masters have become slaves, unexpected and weird new characters were introduced and their backstory was probably explained.
All in all it's very confusing.
Why are there so many chapters missing after ch 13? I know they have been translated but I can't find them for the life of me... :'(
Not sure why it did that, but it's fixed now.
Any reason the reading order is screwed up for this? The "b" portions of chapters keep showing up before the "a" portions, even though they're listed in the correct order in the chapter list.
Yep, because gory horror-cum-torture porn, the concept of slavery, and child pornography were invented in Japan, obviously! Get real, every country in the world produces sick media and every country has people who write and read "underground comics." The only difference between Japan and most other countries is that the former doesn't bother to hide it.
If you want to read a good novel with that theme, check out the horror classic by Dan Simmons: "Carrion Comfort" about mind vampires who play games with humans, including a particularly bloody form of chess.
Mind control is not new to horror or SF. I forget a lot of classics, but the Puppet Masters is a Heinlein oldie (probably inspired Invasion of the Body Snatchers).
A Plague of the Pythons by Frederick Pohl is campy fun.

The underlying premise of the whole story is concealing facts and information from your opponents. If your opponent doesn't know the rules/conditions or you can find a loophole/trick, you can annihilate people simply because people are overconfident.

The premise is utmost interesting. Which makes it a little painful to see the execution being done so-so. We´re introduced to the MC(s?), but she get less screen time then secondary characters, and her motivations feels kind of "meh". And the overall random "knee jerk" things that happens, like that poor girl wanting a friend, but instead got violated twice.....I`m still in, I do want more, is just, I also wanted it to be great, not just interesting. Well, just one volume in, whom knows?
