The most irksome part of this story is how the protagonist has a friend who could be his twin.

That was a good read. I really enjoyed the plot, and I have to say there seemed like a lot of space to further strech the story. Now i wish there was more.

Prety nice wish there was more of it

This... actually isn't too bad. Color me surprised.

oh, i like this one. the end is great.

something could have been done a little better with the switching from 1st to 3rd person perspective in the monologues, but... it didn't ruin the story.

Pacing pacing pacing. I don't mind the narrative changing, but it sorta changes abrubtly, which makes it a little hard to follow at times. I mean I get that this is a one-shot, but still..

The only part I found confusing is the two male characters in the beginning. There was either a shift in narrative perspective from a classmate who was in love with Akemi, to the person who Akemi was in love with or there is some really bad narrative going on there.

Edit: How wrong I was. Re-reading it makes it look like the narrative changes from someone else narrating, to the MC's 1st person perspective to 2nd person then back to 1st for the rest of the manga.

That's a really bad writing style, or maybe it's because of the translation.

Personally, I saw the story as moving like this: 3rd person omniscient narrator -> 1st person Main Character -> 3rd person omniscient narrator. That's actually a very common and very effective storytelling method, since the narrator can provide exposition and conclusion from an external perspective, allowing them to bring in and tie up story threads quickly and simply, while the 1st person narration gives the story greater impact by cataloging thoughts and feelings as they move through the plot.

Its not a bad writing style, its actually a very commonly used and easy-to-work-with framework. The fact that it's very simple just means that the author didn't want to or didn't have another way to introduce the story. Plus, they actually used the system to introduce a sudden plot twist at the end, so it turned out to be very well planned.

Second person is "you" or a direct retelling, by the way, so we would only have seen that if the characters had begun a character-narrated flashback.

The pacing was a little odd, simply because it didn't put any emphasis on any one part of the story, regardless of the danger of the scene or the scene's relative unimportance. I wouldn't say it was a bad writing style, though. Just a little unfocused. And that could have been the artist's interpretation as much as anything.

somewhat confusing at certain parts indeed.

I do not claim to be an manga expert (or critic, or connosieur, what have you), but... The frame transition bothered me a bit. There are some scenes where frames just jumped from one to the other without noting much of fluidity, like how a picture album would attempt to tell a story. It kind of ruined the flow of the story in some parts, but it's not really all that horrible. I did like the art and the plot, though.

Animation-style resembles a typical manga, but can this be considered "manga"?

Like a majority opinion would regard Avatar the Last Airbender as "not anime because not from Japan", so how should this be classified?

Well there are other categories like manwha and manhua and toher (BTW manga, manwha, and manhua all translates to comic in their respective languages) so I guess I wouldn't put it under manga.

Is it just the oneshot or its not inenglisj???

Would be great if they gave it a serialisation.

There will be a second season and it will be the serialized version :)

That odd feeling when your only friend turns out to be Satan.

Ha, someone's a Jim Carrey fan.

Would be great if they gave it a serialisation.

are u sure you're reading from left to right?

I thought it was pretty good overall

yes this manga is read from left to right.

nice oneshot

The story itself isn't hard to follow, it just seems like the proof reader went "Bugger it, this'll do."

I get the general gist of the story, it's just that the way the sentences are made which are crap.

edit: Don't mistake this as me saying I don't appreciate people bothering to translate things, I do. I just feel like the english could've been less confusing.

I can recognize a few, but I'm not sure if they're all from the same one. I don't think so.

They're all from the same manga: Pandora Hearts.

If this seemed too hard to follow then give up reading some other manga. Its the minor things you have to look into.
