At first I was afraid this was going to be 100% exploitation schlock, but it somehow turned into a pretty impactful tragedy about the damage violence does to the psyche and its development. Also the art style is wonderfully fitting, seriously. Not sure why so many are touting it as bad when it's easily this manga's strongest trait.

In terms of story, this manga is very simple and by no means is it complex or overly intricate. But I think that's what makes it so powerful. Most of the characters don't spend chapter after chapter trying to morally justify themselves for their actions, the main character doesn't spend the entire time constantly breaking down and questioning if she's doing the right thing or not. There's no plotting and endless nights spent scheming for revenge, and there aren't constant twists. We know who the villains are. We know who the victims are. And we know that no one in this story will get a truly happy ending.

Some thoughts:

Overall, all of the characters have super-simple backstory to them, but they manage to elicit a lot of emotion and feelings in the reader. It was a good read, but I have no intention of reading it again.

I used up all of my methods for this manga. The squinting, the hands to eye, the pillow to face, even the legendary through-cloth while squinting reading.

wow this final and this fucking feeling

At point it was so graphic I had to look at it with my eyes half closed, but in the end I found myself tearing up. It's such an odd combination of gruesome and tragic, but I loved it.

Also, I personally liked the art. It was great mixture of detailed and gory yet childish that fit well with the story.

I don't know what to think about so I don't see life in a tragic light after this. I was clearly not prepared.

I've decided to read this manga after someone recommend it on Fukushuu Kyoushitsy manga with a similar theme of a bullied girl enacting revenge, art at first made cringe a bit but still story made up for that a bit but still i had problem with reading since i can't believe such a dysfunctional society can exist. Everyone was fcked up, students, teacher, adults. I cracked up a bit when at the end of manga parents of bullies said that they knew they kid were bullying others and were happy about that, da fuck? Plus middle schoolers who act like they are in constant survival wearing knives and other weapon with which they could easily take life, and they dont even regret that, meh. Despite all of that it's a good manga and for those who like revenge stories and some good gore stuff i recommend it.

Minami-sensei's meltdown was the best. :D

I'm glad I got past the uncanny drawings and gave this manga a chance - incredibly disturbing but amazing story here.

ten fe, quizas algun grupo lo tome pronto

Bueno, la espera fue de meses, pero no pensé que lo tomarían tan pronto <3

THIS is why bullying is the worst. Excellent manga, finished it very quickly and felt like everything was just astounding... Hope nothing like this happens to children.

I'm in chapter 4, but I don't think I can take all the way to the actual chapter, pls tell me, something good happens? at least a little bit of hope?

Really intense manga. My heart was not prepared for Chapter 8 after all that shit in chapter 1-7. Everything escalates from there. It's like reading a graphic novel of grimm's fairy tale. There's a manga of the Cinderella story

Pretty much a Stephen King novel.

It helps that he doesn't have graphics

After reading the horrible, horrible, horrible Fukushuu manga, I gave up hope on ever getting to read a decent revenge story. And then suddenly I find this, a work from the same author as Hi-score Girl. And damn you all if this is not a beautiful woven tale of both revenge and tragedy.

The author went the extra mile, fleshing out several characters, making them a little more believable and understandable (but not cliche/cringe enough to make you roll your eyes) and still have a bunch of pure evil douchebags for that satisfying kill.

I must note how much of an eyecandy the manga is. Just because Oshikiri Rensuke have an unique character design most people here would go "BUUUH THEY´RE UGLY", as I shake my head to that, I can not stop admiring the wonderful scenery Oshikiri has drawn. From lonely fall landscape to the snow storm filled winter forest to the blossoming spring. From the heartwarming little sis calling out to the big sis, and from the killing look to the crying face, fantastic sight for the eyes.

Of course, the essential thing for a revenge story, rooting for the MC, and wishing her success is a must. And of course, it all checks out and then some more.

To sum it up, narration is a master work. Art is A-tier, read it.

5/5, love it, and amazed at the mangaka´s repertoire of skills, comedy, love, tragedy, action, the author can do it all.

Sidenote: I actually felt very bad for the teacher, she just wanted to redo her school life, to live it again, but this time without the bullying. *Sniff, damn evil kids.

Sweet sweet revenge
I loved it.

Spoiler

Fucking shitty adults not paying attention to their shitty kids. Where the fuck is the police? No, where is the JSDF?

Just finish reading all of it. Never expected that they are going to pull Another on this one.

That last 10 pages. You just don't pull Shyamalan there. I had my hopes high you know. REALLY HIGH. And then you crush it like that. Gonna ride the feels train with Ojisan.

How could a gore story has so much feels dammit

The last part was such a gore to my feels damn damn damn

The whole time I was reading this, all that was going through my head was...

"And another one gone! and another one gone! Another one bites the dust!"

Pretty much a Stephen King novel.

10/10. Hard to believe it's from the same author as High Score Girl.

He has done lots of dark themed mangas before HSG

Nothing warms the heart like psycho Japanese students in the afternoon.

10/10. Hard to believe it's from the same author as High Score Girl.

I saw that coming at the end, but still, it was a good ride.
