Description: | Yoshimatsu Hotaka is the president of the manga club and is always diligent with his school life and club activities, but even though he looks like a regular honor student in reality we have that there is something really odd with him; he has this bitter ~ heavy ~ melancholic look and is almost always looking at Awaya Niki, the beautiful, bright, radiant, super cheerful swimming club's female ace. Why does Hotaka act all bitter like that? And what will become of him as the sports teacher orders him to have at least "one secret swimming class lesson" where no one is supposed to be looking, whereas he normally skips class activities due to personal matters? |

Golden times isn't fully translated as far as i know? That's why i watched the anime though, liked it much more than this
FUCK! I was gonna read that next. Hell, the only other option is Toradora but I want to read the manga for that and it's been stuck in limbo for over a year now.
Oh my god, I had a hearty laugh at this. You win the internet for the day.
>create a really cute female character
>make her strong and caring
>have her stand up to bullies like a badass
>have loser MC pine for her
>give MC a gnarly scar
>let them have a moment early on
>make them siblings
Fuck this series, I wanted some vanilla romance. I don't see them as going any further than close distant siblings. Gotta say I felt bad for both of them. To have your feelings requited only to find out your love will never be. I would've been happy to have a toradora clone if we could've gotten a better ending...
Oh well, at least Soga and On ended up together, got one power couple out of this. Wish I could say the same for that "fish" guy and the bully, felt like they were there just for the hell of it.
She'd tell me she was my half-sister and i'd tell her i'm only half-guilty about wanting to fuck her.
For all of you who's disappointed by the ending.
Remember how they said "We will keep it green, without any flower blooming." or something like that?
Which refers to their relationship in the future, right?
So, you guys remember the last page?
Well, that was disappointing. Add a twist only to not act on it.
If you're gonna pull the incest card how about actually going all the way instead of making a super big deal out of it for once? Now THAT would be interesting.
And this, boys and girls, is why mangakas usually don't actually make them brother and sister.
Still, I enjoyed the story and the characters. It was a fun read, even with some reservations.
I have to say that was one of the more bad endings for a manga i have read. It feels like it was not properly finished. Also at the end of the day so to speak very... very little happens.
Yes, that was another problem.
I felt more personality in the windows paper clip than these bozos.
It was ok for me, because I didn't feel invested in the characters. Which is not ok for me.
As for the symbolism, I think the "Evergreen" is more meant like the Evergreen back from the Hippie-times. Evergreen symbolizes the always returning same "clicheed" stories in humanity, as it happened in many epics from antiquity where incest was involved. Also, coming back to the Hippie-movement, there was this postulation of "free love", which would fit greatly here.
Sadly nowadays people think that homosexuality is more normal than heterosexuality since there is up to date no "free heterosexuality"[ they could allow "incest" if the couple abdicates from having children if they are worried about eugenics e.g.] although "incest" itself is not clearly defined (in contrast to homosexuality): in some countries you can marry closer relatives than in others and some countries actively prosecute it.
Heck, even transgendering seems to be less a crime than love between a man and a woman...
This doesn't really resolve anything, does it?
There is only the slightest hint of future delicious wincest (it's my head canon, so shut up) and that they're once more on friendly terms with each other.
I'm betting that if this hadn't been axed the plot would have resolved around them making up and hiding the fact that they're siblings to their friends while wondering wether it's worth or not to do your half-sister.
Hormones provide a powerful argument for it.

Also, I don't get the supposed symbolism of evergreen nature or the immortal reference at the end. What the hell are they supposed to mean? From a cynical viewpoint, I got that he wants things to stay as they are because they're comfortable (they're not, by the way, just marginally less bad) and is advocating immobilism.
We all know where that leads.
As far as things go that's probably the best ending possible all things considered.
A bit rushed because it was axed but I couldn't see it ending any other positive way due to the 'twist'. Bittersweet... But a bit more the former than the ladder. I don't really regret reading it.
Well I'm seriously disappointed and don't feel at all satisfied if that answers your question.
lame
not gonna the last 2 chaps man
I haven't read those last two chapters, is there any point in doing so or is it just asking for the disappointing feelings that come from rushed or axed endings? If that's the case, I'd rather file it away in my "axed" folder and be able to remember it as a good manga rather than one that came to a sudden, stupid end.
oh well, it's an end, sort of...
Thanks for your answer. That makes this whole thing even more disappointing, in more than one way, it is disappointing to know that this ending is definitive (at least if this were an adaptation from some novels one could hope for a better ending in the original source material) and is also disappointing to know that Takemiya Yuyuko wrote this, not because I think that she is a super talented writer but mostly because to me some of her other works are much better than this one, maybe this was just a side project, 23 chapters in almost four years does not seem like the kind of rhythm that one gives to something that is a top priority, just a guess of mine. Thanks again for your answer.
This was an original manga.
Yeah...
