Fuck me, this justice porn is brilliant.

The story is excellent but this really is bokuto koutaro delivering vigilante justice in a really, really rad mask

I'm libertarian myself, but sometimes this manga just gets grating

I must say I can't understand half of what he was saying. But it's cool. The downside is that he didn't or it didn't show how he plan his next move step by step. I mean he teleports to places to make a cool entrance, but he's really cool, and without us knowing how he gets there. Hopefully it explains how get to places without getting arrested.

Edit: 8/10 -Would be 10/10 if he didn't pops out of nowhere.

so...Lara Croft's alias in japan is Kirishima... xD

My god.  What a ride.  Somehow, the Hotline Miami 1 & 2 soundtracks went absolutely perfect with this manga...

Soooooooooo thrilling.  I love this series.

Anybody needing some sweet fast paced and smooth slow paced songs while reading this, I highly recommend using this soundtrack;

Spoiler

Akumetsu's mask is a lethal weapon with those side spikes! Just imagine that face on a real demon.

This manga is amazing! Bittersweet ending, but compared to Death Note this is way better.

It's not perfect, but 4 stars is too low a rating for this manga. What a fucking amazing ride that was.

I give this manga 5 stars!

I've just finished reading this manga for what I think is the third time. The first time I read it must have been around two years ago and although I don't read it often, I still come back to read it again just because I never forget how absolutely amazing of a manga it is and how relevant the issues they cover are especially in the past few years. My one wish was to see an Akumetsu anime series but sadly nothings come up yet.

This is the manga that, even though you can read it for free, you will still buy it.

Agreed. I just finished reading it for the first time and it became one of my favourites. I would definitely buy the manga... if it ever got published in german or english.

Honestly, I don't like the ending. I think it's appropriate, but I don't like tragedies. That said, it was an awesome read, which is why even after several years I'm still coming back to re-read it in my spare time.

Just read this Manga in one go, even without going to the shitter.

Totally worth it.

Now quit creeping around in the comments for reasons to read this manga.

Start now.

SHIT. The ending was good, but I can't help but desire more. I wanted to see what the future had in store for the other significant characters in this series.

Alas, we can only imagine.

All in all, it was an entertaining series, and I will probably find myself rereading this in the future at some point.

Thanks for the entertaining read.

Sorry for the wall of text beforehand...

I started off really liking this manga and as it progressed, it became a little stagnant. It can become a little boring towards the middle as some of the mini-stories can be repetitious. But, I always feel the ending can either make or break something and in this case, it DEFINITELY made the manga. The final chapters leading up to the end were so dramatic and tense. Although the end was rather abrupt, I felt it was satisfactory as a conclusion that left little loose strings and was impactful. That being said, the story is far from perfect and there are some characters that were introduced then shoved aside without much development (eg. the girl that shou may have liked in the beginning chapters). Now for he actual breakdown of each of the categories:

art: 9/10
The art style is stylized and expressive. It conveys the emotions of the characters quite well and is quite good at causing moments of extreme epicness. The artist did a good job is expressiing the ugliness of the "evil" through his drawings. I felt a true sense of digust every time I looked at them. While the literal interpretation that evil is ugly might be over powering in other manga, it works well in this story where evil is shown to be so oppressive and overwhelming. While, the art isn't especially impressive and detailed, it is well drawn and creative in how showing how the story is told.

story: 8/10
The story was rather simple and straightforward but had depth at the same time. It did not try to convince the reader that what the "hero" was doing was undeniably right. The actions of Akumetsu are questionable at best and downright immoral at worst. Though there was a "good" side and "bad" side, the story gave the reader room to ponder the actions of the akumetsu. It allowed us to understand nothing is inherently evil, but will undoubtedly become corrupted with time. There some flaws and issues that I could pick out throughout manga but non that are big enough that would ruin the manga. As I mentioned before, the ending though abrupt was good enough to give a feeling of completion. The story understands that there is no end all solution for "evil" and I'm glad that they didn't pull out some bullshit method to end all evil (I'm looking at you Code Geass R2).

character(s): 7/10
I felt this was the weakest part of the manga. Aside from the main character, the side characters get little if any development. They felt quite two-dimensional and they all lacked personality. An exception might be Katsuragi. Although he character wasn't even alive during the timeline of the manga, the chapters dedicated to him really fleshed out his character as well as the reason for Akumetsu's actions. I actually felt sorry that he had to die. Putting secondary characters aside, the main character was quite delightful and unique to learn about in the story. The reason I'm still giving this section a good rating is because the manga is supposed to be focused on the point of view of Akumetsu as a man that tries to take on evil by himself. The problem is when he begins relying on the power of the side characters in the end. Without much development of the secondary characters, their collaboration felt somewhat hollow. That being said, the finale was still nothing short of gratifying.

This is the manga that, even though you can read it for free, you will still buy it.

Wow, this was such a great series. It was basically V For Vendetta, if V found a way to clone himself. It had my attention from the begging to the very end(had me at the verge of tears, but I held back, I HELD BACK! ...Then I cried like a little babby later that night.)

This was an amazing manga. Slightly farfetched, but still believable. I loved it, and would recommend it to most everyone. One man, well, high school student, reforming Japan while terrorizing it. Or was he terrorizing Japan while reforming it.. Either way, the story is incredible.

If anyone asks whether his way was "right or wrong," be sure to ask them if they're talking morally or legally. Because legally, of course it's not, but the moral portion provides a great topic for debate.

NOOOOO, THE ENDING!!!! My heart hurts for Shiina. Ugh I shouldn't have had hopes when I read that all the Akumetsu would be gone after that one month...

It's on 666 likes and I don't want to destroy it. ANYWAY! AKUMETSU IS FUCKING AMAZING.

This series lights a fire in your soul and consumes you all the way to the end of the series. I can't recommend this enough.

You know, I liked it from the get-go, from the start it was easily just below my top favorites list. And when I saw that ending....it became one of my favorites. I seldom cry, and get emotional, but I cried some manly tears, some of the manliest tears I have ever wept.

And too add, while I was reading the last few chapters in my Bee Gees playlist the song "I Started a Joke" played until I finished it. That song is now this manga's theme in my opinion, fits it perfectly (the words do, I suspect the theme song to this would be metal or rock.)

It's not often that one gets a truly satisfying end to an amazing manga.

Usually it gets axed or the author tries to make more money and in the process killing it.

This was truly a masterpiece and I am sad that there is no more akumetsu, but from the start we all knew that this wasn't going to have a happy endng, but low and behold they managed one anyway. A cool bonus was that during the final two chapters the song "This Is War" by 30 Seconds to Mars started playing and the final panel ended on the lyric "Welcome to a Brave New World"

God bless creative artists such as these two.

Truly an amazing manga, some really great stuff. This pair needs to make more long running manga together

this is the shit

ABSOLUTE AWESOME!!!!!

...but the ending still sucks.....
