The worst part about this manga isn't even the story, its shitty characters, his sisters were cunts all throughout the series, this is by far one of my top most hated mangas.

With all the talk about 'Truck-kun' having effects on story lines...  I'm here reading c8 and think..

Chap 358, Simca best girl ever! Tbh though, it's been so long since I read Air gear, the art is still damn good.

Really hope a group translates the epilogue, just released on Dec.22nd. Although I agree that the manga started epic, but took a couple wrong turns afterwards, it's still one of my faves...well mainly because of simca...

Yes, on the right side of your follow page you can change the setting to only display specific languages.  also you wont change languages when using the reader, it will advance you to the next chapter in your current language.

Story being difficult to understand and strafing run of deus ex machinas are 2 quite different things

Air gear was very very high grade manga when it started and for several years after that, but once Oogure seemed to run out of extra laps he could run, he just burned the setting he spent years creating..

 

In the end of the story those supposedly "High Tech" AT:s seemed old ass stuff compared to flying cars, mechanical omnidirectional omnipotential limb prosthetises and mega kill deathrobots.. Fights which were supposed to be everything about AT teams individual and combined riding ability turned into messups of one side pulling a fucking billion barreled guns out from their asses, only to have those turned into ash by the fart of a baby from the other side of the planet.. Mobilize American navy beacause.. duh.. "CARRIERS! YAYY!.. NUKES.. YAYYY!.. LASER GUNS... YAYYY!" Makes sense? The hell any of those has anything to do with wheeled sports and illegal racing that Air Gear was ALL about..

 

Only mystical part in the story were early introduced Regalias.. and that was more than okay since it gave a small interesting flavour to the story. Just revealing them as highly experimental devices which require high tech and hard to obtain materials like Iridium and something combined through a difficult processing tree and voila.. you can create a product which is way too expensive and difficult to create en masse just like that. Have it creator and producement data vanish afterwards and thats that.. You have a high tech mysterious machine which is uncomprehensible to almost all and almost impossible to replicate.

 

After THAT you can make it shoot fire from its eyes and bolts of lightning from his arse.. and Oogure just kept breeding those things out of nowhere. What happened to those what.. 8 or 9 regalias? werent there like 80 or 90 different ones in the end of the story?

are we all just going to ignore the fact that chapters 208 and 209 are just completely missing... like i can click on the chapter but it'll give me an error when trying to view the pages....

so hrm i read the first chapter and dropped it... guy is face with a gang with bats and is threatening to choke the guy? and when the guy flips himself forward all he needs to do is apply a bit of downward pressure and breck is neck (they say he knows wrestling apparently) yet doesnt do it eventho his life is in danger? then ends up with a firecracker in is ass and goes home crying like a bitch without even thinking of revenge? fuck air treks, buy a gun

anyway if this is what ppl mean when they say the first half is great... i realy dont want to read and see what they consider bad in the second half

To all those complaining, yes the manga isnt the best shounen, but it has by far the best MC out there, and the rest of the cast is more than decent as well. Ikki alone makes the manga my all time favourite...

I actually finished reading it for the first time now... was used to following it till chapter 320 or so, i lost track of what's going on and decide to just put it on hold or drop it altogether.. now that i read it all together in one go my opinion on this manga was that it's just another jump manga... like one piece but with better art and actual fan service *shrug*

this started as one of the best manga i have read and then i don't even now what happen

I am well aware that this went berserk a long time ago, and I know I should finish this up as it was one of my fav in the past, but *sigh* I can't pick it up. Besides its female characters, there's not much it attracts me anymore. What sad series it has become!

I think this series is worth reading if you ignore the bits where he goes mildly insane and just enjoy it as a shounen manga

Never started cuz it looked ridiculous. Guessing from most of the other peoples responses it's not worth reading?

Just seeing (not reading) this everytime makes me sad. I´m always reminded of the lost potential. Never have I seen an author f*** up this bad. This manga could´ve been remembered as an masterpiece.

Instead we will always remember it for Obama, ecchi and the sto.......oh wait, sorry, there´s no story.

i dont understand all the complaints this is one of my favorite manga and i constantly reread it, it has its problems but to me its nearly perfect

OK here is the low down on this manga: First half is great, a bunch a kids with some great Rollerblade-like stuff and a bunch of jokes.
Then the president came in as an active character which I could troll the @#$% out of for days, but I won't. (Seriously though, what is up with the Japanese view of USA? Always pretty perverse and open, which I think is wrong considering that their porn industry has got to be several times larger than ours.)
And finally, FINALLY, after 300 chapters the Ikki kisses Ringo (which we all knew would happen eventually.) But I'm still pissed that Kazu and Emily still haven't kissed, but I die a little every time I'm reminded that Emily is actually the President (in a sense).
I felt I have nearly wasted my time. I feel that this could have been better. But no matter how many faults this manga has, it will have one thing going for it: Ikki is a mother!@#$ing badass at every point in the manga.

357 chapters total. Just 3 more and it would've been a full 360.

It would be as if the entire series was one big trick. Sadly, I wish the last half of it was.
