Finished. This guy went through so many changes in the bio
6'5", 240 lbs
Name: Henry “Hank” Kowalski
Theme: The soundtrack of your life
Age: 36
Sex: Male
Biography: Kowalski’s life before he joined the military wasn’t terribly unique. His dad and mom split before he could remember. His mom remarried a professor of history. He played football in high school. Was offered a scholarship to play in college, but chose to go into the military.
Early years were uneventful. Went into demolitions, was quite proficient in blowing things up. He developed a reputation as a stoic individual who did what was asked. Also of note, he had what was considered the highest efficiency and success rates for demolitions in the military.
About eight years back, he was given an assignment to destroy a bridge that enemy forces were going to use to raid a village. He and the unit ran into advance scouts. After hard fighting his squad suffered casualties and was forced to retreat. As a result, the village was raided and the inhabitants butchered. This failure, combined with the loss of his squad-mates led him to develop a reckless attitude.
The best example of this happened a year later. During an op the unit he was with came under fire. One soldier was shot in the lower back after being cut off from the rest. Kowalski charged across the kill zone to reach him. He then hunkered down with the wounded soldier and stayed there defending him for an hour. He suffered three gunshot wounds and gained a medal for his trouble.
He gained a reputation for being a survivor, often getting through missions where others did not. As joke, some started to refer to him as deathless behind his back.
This actions and similar that brought him to the attention of a secret DARPA blackops unit, AOD-6. He was brought in due to his skill in demolition and his apparent “deathless” nature. He served with them for six years. His last mission changed his life.
A research lab in Indonesia was reporting usual findings that matched with records from a prior mission. Kowalski’s team was sent to investigate. According to the head researcher, a colony of prehistorical preternatural Nanites where activated deep in cave. They were devouring the minerals and digging a hole towards the magma pocket. It would result in a volcanic eruption that would impact global environmental conditions and potentially cause an extinction level event.
Through a complicated process that Kowalski didn’t follow, his team was able to shut off the nanites. Before their success however there were casualties, three members of the team lost their lives, the head research was devoured by the nanites, and Kowalski’s left arm was covered by the nanites. Rather than instantly devouring him, Kowalski had a strange reaction.
He was brought to a mental plain where he was able to communicate with the nanite hive mind. While he remembers conversing with the nanites, he does not recall what was said. He awoke a month later, having been dragged to safety by one of the assistant researchers. Several nannies remained in his bloodstream and there was no safe way to remove them.
This mission left Kowalski in a bad place, he attempted to resign from his post and leave the military all together. He was convinced to take an extended leave instead by his former team leader, now the head of AOD-6.
He now struggles at night knowing what exists out there in the world, but not knowing how to deal with it.
Family/Friends:
Joe Kowalski (Father)- His father lives on the West Coast. They speak on Christmas.
Myra Kohl (Mother)- He talks to his mother every weekend when not on duty.
Dr. Jonathan Kohl (Step Father)- Get along well, taught him how to work on cars.
Dr. Elisa J. Callan (???)- A assistant researcher who Kowalski saved during an earthquake she then returned the favor when he passed out from contact with the nanites. They have stayed in contact since and are heading towards a serious relationship. He forgets his trauma when he’s with her
Col. Ira Jackson (Friend)- The former field leader of AOD-6 and the current head of the unit. Likely his closest living friend.
Daisy (dog)- A pitbull he adopted when he left the military.
Flaws: Devil’s luck. Low self-worth. Death seeking attitude. Terrified of losing someone else.
Strengths: Brave as a bear, strong as one too. Demolitions expert. Hand to hand combat proficient. Responsible. Protective. Seemingly unkillable.
Goals: He doesn’t have any goals at the moment, he’s just trying to cope with mental trauma
Regrets: His failure to destroy the bridge. His inability to save his friends. The one time he was leading a mission, it was a failure and there were casualties.
Abnormal Quality: Towards the end of military career, witnessed preternatural nanite colony, which left his arm severely scarred, nanites dormant in his bloodstream, and three shrinks worth of mental trauma.

Been pretty quiet lately. I have one that I'm playing with, not sure how popular it would be.
