Well unless Jeanne had suggested for a pairing with Garm, I am sure Lady Beatrice won't have gone for that pairing. She had a lot of politicking to do and if Jeanne would have left the decision to her she would have seen to it that she'll plant her somewhere where she can call a favor in the future.
So if that was to happen, I am sure Jeanne won't have been a stiff to Garm. xD
That's true. Jeanne is a Noble (adopted or otherwise) and would have been a valuable asset to get married off for profit/trade relations with another noble family.
It's unlikely Garm would have succeeded in such a venture, even if he intended to at all in the first place.
Yea, it'll be garm who'd be all stiff with Jeanne.

It's actually a mixture of both. I like the diversity of Races from FFTA. (Like Bangaa, Nu Mou, Viera, etc. I feel it gives players more options to mess around with than to be just a good ole' Human. There are racial benefits/weaknesses.)@Missy: I'm actually surprised you used FFTA as the base of your RP instead of the vanilla FFT on PS1 (aka war of the lions). It is much better story-wise imo. And permadeath makes it a lot more grim than their lighthearted counterpart.
While I use Vanilla FFT for the, well, grimness of permadeath, and the darker feel for storyline.

Nonsense. I can easily explain why those stats are prevalent. Charisma was explained on the last page, I believe. It can greatly effect not only how NPCs treat you, but PCs as well. Who is the shopkeep going to give a discount to? The neanderthal with 5 charisma? Or the babe with 18 charisma? Inversely, who is the enemy going to be afraid of?DnD stats are based on a very specific and mathematical system though. There's no need for charisma, or intelligence, or wisdom either without dice rolls involved.
Same with Intelligence, ironically. Including to that the fact being that how effective a Mage or Healer is is heavily reliant on their Intelligence. At least part of it. As is the characters ability to speak. I would heavily limit the vocabulary and mental capacity of a character with 5 intel, when the normal is 10.
Wisdom is in an essence perception. The ability to look for clues where others would not. Like, say, for example, Sherlock Holmes would have an expansive wisdom. I can choose as a GM to reveal to a character with higher wisdom than others a hint or clue to solving a puzzle, or where an enemy might be hiding. That, and it is your ability to resist magic, in terms of both damage and status-based.

Health pools are non existant. If you catch an arrow to the throat, you have about 30 seconds of drowning in blood, while bleeding out get stabilized by a magic based healer or you're dead. Potions help with recovery, but not with a wound as critical as that.
Plain and simple, without Constitution, it's easier to manage for me, and makes it also easier to punish players for stupid mistakes. Essentially you should just consider mostly everyone to he fairly trained foot soldiers at the start, so sprinting medium distances (about 100m) and jogging long distances (say about 8km) with equipment isn't an issue.
Heavy armored characters have better protection, but are easier to hit. Inversely so with lightly armored characters. For example, a Sniper has a tendency to use extremely high powered bows at long range. A heavily armored character won't be able to do much against it other than act as a bulwark using a shield, and praying the Sniper doesn't have any explosive arrows on hand.
A light armored character will have a better chance of moving from cover to cover, and eventually flanking the Sniper.
(Btw. Snipers and Assassins are my favorite classes from FFTactics Advanced. :3)
Squire would be the best start. I wont say where to go from there. Might require some other base class work to unlock any kind of Magic. ^___^

So you mean that we have something with your flair, Anima's penchant for systems and Kiri's ruthlessness. I can live with that. Although, it is all your original concept but in terms of structure and Hard GMs they both are my only experience.
Plus, I feel that Berserkers work very well from a GM point of view but badly from a PC's perspective xP

It's not really much of a system. Just helps me define the rules for each individual character. Like say a character with low dexterity won't be so good with a bow, or even be all that great of a sword fighter. A person with average constitution will be winded after sprinting 50 yards or so.
A person with low wisdom is more susceptible to spells and their mechanics. Etc.

Not sure how far he'd get.
And the stat system is designed along the lines so that I can establish, well, guidelines as to what your characters are capable of. Not so much like stat/performance rolls
It's simply to assist me in figuring out your character's strengths/weaknesses, etc. For example, a character that low charisma and mediorcre intelligence can very likely end up getting lynched by a local village for being an Ogre.

Description:[/size] Jinxy stands at roughly five foot two, one hundred and ten pounds. She is not the biggest, but she does have some muscles, from years of engine work and weapon training. (From about the time she was seven with the weapons, fifteen for engine work.) She keeps her black hair short so it won’t get caught in the engines she’s working on, but has two blue streaks in her hair. [/size]
Personality:[/size] Jinxy is what some may call a ‘wild card’ as sometimes it’s hard to tell if she’s being playful or serious, unless it comes to engines. When it comes to engines, she will take them seriously, as a non-functioning engine could result in them falling from the sky and towards their death.[/size]
She can be a bit of a prankster at times, but nothing ever too serious. She knows better than to cause trouble aboard the ship when they are on duty, so she saves her pranks for when they are at the docks, and are on leave. [/size]
She is a very loyal and friendly person to those who have her trust, and is usually easy going, unless someone is messing about with her engine, but that will usually just get you either a look, or a stern warning, nothing too much more. She does try to make sure that everything is in place, and she has a system, and is not a fan of people messing with it too much. [/size]
Her friendship can be easily bought with some good liquor and a good joke, but her loyalty is earned through time and actions. [/size]
History:[/size] Jinxy was born in Shao Hong, to her loving parents Aimami and Tokorashi. Her father Tokarashi was an engineer for the ships and airships that would come from time to time, and he was one of the better ones around. Jinxy started coming with him to work when she was little, and grew up around engines and the smell of machines. She found that she was hooked on machines from a young age, and as soon as she was able to, she would worm her way way under engines and start working on them.[/size]
At the same time, her elder brother taught her how to fight, using a pair of sais as her weapons. He said it was part of the family line tradition, on their mother’s side. Aimami watched over her daughter as her son taught her, and would step in from time to time, especially when Jinxy would need help with her Rune magic. Her elder brother, Hoshiro, was not adept with magic at all, so Aimami took that into her own hands with her daughter.[/size]
Jinxy started spending most of her time with her father, working on engines, becoming an engineer without peer in their small town. When she was old enough, she soon found her way to Vaele, where airships were born. She spent a few years there, bouncing around from ship to ship as a mechanic, while also making sure to keep up with her magic and weapon training. From Vaele, she made her way to Azuria, where she found work in the military as an engineer. That is where she met Amelia. She was briefly aboard one of Amelia’s ships before Amelia was discharged. [/size]
Jinxy liked Amelia enough to leave the military with her, and offered her services as a mechanic. Over the next few years, she soon became the Chief Mechanic, a position that she holds with pride, and would never give up. She still makes sure to keep up both her magic and weapon practices, as she wants none of her talents to go to waste.[/size]

Further she pushed the fiend back with heated fervor as a look of satisfaction dared to creep upward on her lips. It seemed that she would not have to comprimise who she was after all! Even the peculiar monk came to her aid, kicking away an oncoming assassin with a deft blow that insured her safety. With such reinforcement, the Priestess channelled all that she had into the roaring heat, pushing the beast even further back.
Until there was a remarkable change. From nowhere, a duet of Assassins appeared and within the blink of an eye, the world had gone dark. Instantly, all her thoughts ceased into a frantic panic.
Where there had once been light, where there had once been hope now stood precariously upon the edge of despair. She sprinted through the darkness, searching desperately for even the hint of light, only to find absolute nothingness. Hastened breath marked her fear so concisely, and yet there seemed as if there was nothing that she could do.
She had to try something, but such things also carried significant risk. Gritting her teeth as she mulled through the possibilities that lay ahead, she froze when footsteps announced the presence of additional company.
Holding up her hand, an orb of flame emerged with her will to hang suspended in the air. Illuminating her immediate surroundings, even as the abysmal black seemed to possess the need to consume it.
Thankfully, providence came in the revelation that her company was none other than the peculiar monk! Not only this, but how the darkness seemed to try and devour the flame, also gave her an idea. One which also warranted caution for her ally. With a reassuring smile beneath the flickering light, the Goddess would issue such accordingly.
"Hold fast your shields, and gain considerable distance from me. Please."
She would watch on as Aurora would gain some distance and throw up her defenses, and even still she questioned herself if it would be enough. Even still, she had to try. With her attempt came a rapid rise in temperatures as the very air began to ripple from the intense heat. In the exterior world, a bead of sweat would trickle down both of the Assassin's cheek as only them and Aurora would hear a voice.
"You fail to grasp that which you trifle with." She began softly, though there was unmentionable fury lining ecery syllable. "You seek to imprison that which you cannot control. For, remember the tale of a boy who made wings of wax. What happened to him when he flew to the heavens to touch the Sun?"
"I burned him. For he was not worthy to behold my face."
And with such final, grim words, the darkness was filled with unstoppable fire, emanating from a singular point that caused all shadows to cease, the darkness to give way, and more importantly, completely overrun the ability of the Assassins to continue her incarceration. The shadows broke, and the flames were so viciously intense to those nearby that the two wardens of her prison burnt to ash.
"I WILL NOT BE CONTAINED."
With teeth grit in righteous fury as parts of her skin had burned away to reveal the fire within her, the Priestess held up her hand, and within it came a Javelin made of pure white fire. Driven by the fury caused by those who dared to wound or contain her, she hurled it at the abomination. Her intent of course would be revealed as once it drew near to it, the lance of flame would erupt into a harrowing explosion that shook the foundations of the tavern, and would hopefully send the Abomination flying.
