When someone intends to gift you something even though they don't need to but messed up and didn't actually give you the gift, do you just say thanks and act like everything is fine or do you point it out? I feel like pointing it out will come off as greedy, plus it's not like I should be asking for anything in the first place

Because I just got a better-paying job at a big institution in Germany that starts in May and I can finally stop being miserable. For now the contract is only until the end of the year though but I hope I can continue to work there after that (it's likely if I don't fuck it up, but can't be guaranteed for various reasons)
