Funny how a conversation about cats can turn into a discussion on how orbital mechanics would come into play when trying to create a dual planet through the use of a physical tether.

Scientists. They strike when you least expect it.

Discovering that several comics list December 31, 1969 as their last update.

#1689961 Batoto becoming registered only?

Posted by Strike on 24 December 2015 - 10:34 PM

and by doing this you have broken all forms of EASIER manga reading via subscription updates from extensions like manga viewer. its not the same thing as you being paranoid that mangaxxx is stealing your posts and that's funny considering mangahere for example UPDATES QUICKER THAN YOU. literally a stupid decision and i along with probably tons of people will stop reading here and no not just because you have to log in/register that's fine, but because you did this it broke almost every manga I'm following via the mangaviewer extension and so now i have to manually change every single one to mangahere since i dont get updates otherwise.
-signed one of your 90% of "guests" you probably just lost

This... I don't... wha? Is the follows list really that hard a concept to get? Why bother using an extension to keep track of what you're reading when you can have batoto do it for you? Also: why (and this is aimed at a number of posts carrying a similar theme, not just the one quoted above) do people using extensions and apps not produced by batoto expect Grumpy to jump through hoops to make them still work after the recent changes? That's the app or extension's developer's problem, not Grumpy's. For all we know, some of these apps/extensions could be among those crawling the site.

On a note unrelated to the above quote, are people that use mobile apps to read things from batoto seriously unaware that they can just go directly to the regular bato.to site instead of the mobile version? There's even a button at the bottom of the page that lets you switch back and forth. I've yet to see this mentioned so far, though I have admittedly only read fifteen of the current twenty-six pages, so I could be wrong. Considering how many people I've seen complaining about apps breaking, it's surprising it hasn't come up.

Done griping for now.

I have the extraordinary ability to traverse the treacherous, hazard strewn, path from by bed to the bathroom and back again without injury, despite having my eyes closed, being half asleep, and having no lights on.

Unfortunately, it doesn't work when I'm awake.

The knowledge that even "gay" (the specific pair was a man and his partner, a female to male transsexual, which, at least for me, makes things a bit confusing) couples make their kids mow the lawn.

I suspect there is a difference. Not sure what it is, other than a before and after of achieving the goal. As for the second: it depends on what you count as being absolute world peace. If you mean no conflict whatsoever, then yes, it most certainly is a fool's dream. Even if it could be achieved, it would end the instant two people eye the last watermelon on sale at a grocery store. Fortunately (depending on your perspective), when most people say they want "world peace," what they really mean is "I wish people would stop waging war." Many would still view this as a rather lofty dream born from idealism and "not understanding how things work," but by comparison to the former definition it is far more reasonable, and likely. Deep down, most people don't like war, or killing. Those that do are usually a few peas short of a pod, and those that appear to are often driven by other motivations, be they "right" or "wrong" - bear in mind that perspective influences how people evaluate what is and isn't "right" or justifiable -, like feeling the need to defend what they hold dear, or wanting a new freshwater port, for example. People -at least those with a full pod- don't start wars for the sake of  starting wars anymore than you'd eat nails for the sake of eating nails, they start them as a means to an end. Given this, it's absolutely possible to create this kind of world peace as long as humans stop feeling the "need" to resort to such devastating and brutal acts of violence. There are likely many ways to achieve this. All of them difficult, many of them crazy, implausible, ludicrous, biased, risky, heavy-handed, reasonable, coercive, well-intended, or benevolent. A few of them may even be outright evil. Fewer still a long term solution. The point, however, stands. If world peace means no more wars, then it is achievable, regardless of whether everyone, or anyone for that matter, on the planet likes how it's done.

Now what the hell was my question?

Right. How much fun do you think getting together with a group of close friends and roasting marshmallows over a nice, warm, toaster would be?

And now for a word from our sponsors, Science! :

Most people breathe air. Why? Well it has a lot of oxygen in it. Humans need that. You know what else needs oxygen? Fire. Fire really likes oxygen. Doesn't seem to care for humans much.

Remember kids! If you see a fire, especially if it's a big fire, run the hell away before it tries to steal your precious oxygen.

Greedy bastards.

A bit late, but:

cute [kju:t] adj. ;  1. Vulnerable to damage (or injury) inflicted through the application of force over a small area. 'Young children are cute.' 2.  Doubtful. 'You beat your brother at checkers? That's cute.'

Who is this Odi, anyway?
