PROGRESSION-filled adventure/fantasy recommendation

03 May 2015 - 02:17 PM

i'm looking for recommendations of manga that meet the following criteria. this is a bit rigid but please bear with me :)

1- must have a clear and ongoing progression. doesn't matter what or who the progression is focused on, or where its headed, or if its uncertain, as long as it is a clear selling-point of the manga. both ongoing and completed series are fine.

2- genre must be adventure/fantasy (or both).

3- accepted (not necessarily limited to) sub-genres (as in, not the main selling-point of the series) are shounen, romance, seinen.

4- decently-developed characters (including sub-characters), such as having a bit of seriousness and credibility on actions or choices. a bit of shounen-esque sillyness is accepted, as long as characters feel deep in general. characters that start as shallow but further develop into deep/interesting ones are also accepted.

5- no bad/weak or shoujo art styles.

6- no mechas. preferably no sci-fi either.

examples of titles i'm already currently reading that i think follow these rules:

World Customize Creator (MC somewhat shallow but other ones are good)

Sentou Jousai Masurawo

Re:Monster

Tower of God

Akame ga KILL! (more shounen than adventure/fantasy, but still pretty good in other criteria)

Konjiki no Word Master - Yuusha Yonin ni Makikomareta Unique Cheat

Shingeki no Kyojin (bad art style but its epicness can balance it out)

Monster X Monster (MC still shallow but seems like he will develop more later on)

Tsuyokute New Saga

Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari

The Legend of Maian
