lol people still adding chapters despite the betrayal.

It's great.

Lol it's still alive up in here

Fricking liar said no one really visits the site anymore

It's interesting to see a few idiots who can't read, crawl out of the woodwork at the last moments.

Also, betrayal?

THE TIME FOR INTERNAL SCREAMING HAS PASSED

Oh god, this site has been a huge part of my life practically since day 1, to the point where I've refused outright to touch other sites. I've no idea what to do about manga from this point on, this site's been too good.

#598530 Can someone recommend me a good comedy manga?

Posted by Amplify on 20 March 2013 - 11:53 AM

Comedy is one of my least favourite genres, my top 20 favourite mangas of all time are pretty much dominated by seinen and / or action oriented mangas,

yet my #1 favourite manga of all time by far is a comedy: Sumire 16-sai!!

That should give you an idea of how enjoyable it is. *shrug*

#591588 Looking for Manga w/ stopped Scanlation

Master of Sea, Umishi

Lots of people would love to see it continue, and it has over a dozen chapters cleaned & ready for a translator.

#331050 A simple but very useful change - Re: group delays

One final thing, and it's more of a feasibility question than anything else. Are there sites that has this functionality presently...present? And if we are setting a precedent, will the IPBoard software handle it or does that even matter?

As far as I'm aware, it would be unique to Batoto.

On a side note, Batoto's scanlator pages are pretty useful. Kinda like a mini-aggregator for the group's releases and a FYI page rolled into one. I know my follow list grew somewhat by searching and skimming those pages. I hope I'm not alone. ;)

You're not alone there :)

#20480 Watermark and scanlation

Posted by Amplify on 01 November 2011 - 09:29 AM

I have to say I have never seen a more childess response to not getting your way as is show by these 'Water Marks'

The manga is only good because of its art and cuteness. This is completely taken away by the absurd watermarks. I suggest just to stop translating the manga if this is your idea of a response to someone stealing something you have already stole from another artist.
Don't try justifing the time you took to translate as a reason you should make a profit. Just because you may or may not have bought a copy of a manga doesn't give you the legal right translate and post it. It is even more illegal to try and make a profit off the said translation. You should be doing this either for the enjoyment of letting people read a manga that wouldn't normally be able to read or get out of the illegal business.
I read the manga online because I can't even buy the untranslated version. Now its no better then trash in its current watermark form.

You're making a rather large (and incorrect) assumption in your post, you're assuming that scanalators start at +/- 0 profit/loss and can only stand to gain a profit from scanalating. The vast majority of scanalators are only trying to reduce their losses, most have to take up secondary part-time jobs just to help pay for the free service they bring you people.

Regardless it doesn't matter, because the second somebody tries to pull the "scanalators are stealing from the manga authors so it's okay for mangafox & friends to steal from them in turn." argument their opinion becomes null & void.
