Fun fact: the factor of safety (which is the classifier of how much higher than the expected load a design can take) is notably lower in aircraft than anything else. For example, elevators could have a FoS of 100, so it can take 100 times the recommended load, i.e. that 14 person limit sticker you see. Aircraft cut it much closer as they need to save weight. (I have a friend who's afraid of flying so to ease him into the notion of death, I have all these fun facts)
