A certain divisive event happens much much later in the story. An event we won't see in the manga for years and someone decided to vent about it on the Comments page and its set off a storm of un-spoilered replies to those events which are frankly spoilers as well... more than enough to piece together what they're alluding to and lead peoples minds. I don't think its appropriate, especially in the main Comments, for people to do stuff like that. Let people enjoy the journey without putting your two cents in with novel spoilers from a dozen novels later. Its seriously rude, immature, and uncalled for.

IMHO even if I don't like the ending to every series I've watched or read, I don't let that affect the enjoyment I had reading it to that point. Don't take that joy away from others. Let them read and form their own opinions.

#1766982 [done]Recent Boku Girl uploads

Posted by Aereus on 01 October 2016 - 10:37 AM

Someone named Izaya has been uploading chapters recently. They use my scripts that were provided to another individual (BokuBoy) on the understanding they were for practice only and not meant to see public dissemination. Somehow this person found a link to them and is uploading them now without permission from BokuBoy, and as you may imagine, myself. I would appreciate if you could expunge them. Enough damage has already been done, as they have no doubt been picked up by less discerning reader sites which only care about the first release and don't replace with a later quality release. I'd like to minimize the damage as much as possible, however.

#1327188 Naver Titles

I just took a look at their website... my lord, it's worse than scanlation quality. You have to hit Control-Minus a few times to shrink the pages to a size they aren't bloated at. And even then, the dialogue is incredibly Engrishy, like playing some terribly localized MMO...

As usual, they have the reputable site remove them, which just leaves them on all the Chinese aggregators that don't give a fuck. And as you said, many of them aren't even on that site. So either interest in Naver stuff goes down the tubes now, as scanlators won't introduce people to new titles anymore, (And Naver will only put what they feel are the most popular on that site) or it goes to sites that line the pockets of NOEZ. gg

#794848 Improving Google search listings?

Posted by Aereus on 22 July 2013 - 08:04 PM

I recently started scanlating a new series, and so I've been trying to get the word out on it, Googling for it to see where discussion of it is happening etc. And it led me to an interesting discovery about search listings:

(Name doesn't matter, but it's Kasane) So if I search for "batoto kasane manga" in Google ... the first entry is MangaFox. If I only search for "batoto kasane" then Batoto is properly listed as first.

I think the reason for this is, MF includes the term "manga" in the header of every page. Along with their site name having "manga" in it ... it causes their listings to receive greater weighting by the Google algorithm. This is undoubtedly why NOEZ tries to have "manga" in the domain name of almost every aggregator site they run.

So, maybe including the term manga (or manwha I guess for the appropriate ones?) in the header may improve search listings so that less people just click the first link and go to MF...

#296164 For the love of all that is good...

... do NOT add more emoticons. At least not like the Hamsters or Onion ones. In fact, I vote to get rid of the _batoto_ tagged ones already on here. IMHO if the emoticon can't fit into the standard smiley emoticon footprint, it doesn't belong on a forum.

Nothing makes a forum go to crap faster than promoting 12year old-level discussions with giant 128x128 emoticons and signatures that take up half a page. It drastically cuts down on the number of posts per page, increases the scrolling required, and breaks line-spacing badly.
