So many potatoes still alive~ \o

I've been thinking about it lately - is there any particular shape/composition/whatever difference between "stone" and "rock" words (outside of the latter usually meaning something large)? o:

Hm, well. Rock is used more commonly, and is used to refer to any specific rock of any size, as well as the material itself. Something is made of rock. We don't really say something is made of stone. The word stone also has connotations of size, a little? Although it's not used in geology as a technical term for a size of rock/particle/whatever. (You can see the scale used here.)

Yes. Have been for ~1.5 yrs.

Wow another Georgian! I'm not in Atlanta, but my older brother and cousin live there.

I moved my car from the driveway, cuz the wind is making acorns hail on it >:|

And on the way I backed into the recycle bin. Nice.

A light switch

Gotta talk about geology in every post now

Oh shit I'm behind on my geology references. I mean, oh schist

The nurse route is the most fucked up, the teacher route is also pretty messed up and the childhood friend one gets uncomfortably realistic lol

Thanks! Kiwi likes when I call him too. He answers by chirping once when I call his name. And yeah, my birds also loooved to throw things down. I had one in particular who would pick things up, carry them to the edge of the table/cupboard/sofa/whatever and throw it down and watch it fall. Then he'd look at you and wait for you to put it back where he was so he can throw it down and watch it fall again. Repeat many times.

Yeeeeeeeep

Pfffff oh birds.

Welcome back. Ya, I still work for the evil empire :^ ) Were you out here on vacation to see the mountains? Did you ever get out to the mid West for some geology excavation?

I was actually in town for the GSA--Geological Society of America--annual conference! So I went to like, network and stuff. I only got to see Mt. Rainier once, while riding the bus back to where I was staying.

But yeah! Back in June I was out in Wyoming for field camp! It was pretty awesome. Gorgeous. I want to head back there sometime, for sure.

And you get ready for ults by building up stamina/mana/rage/whatever by fighting I assume

Eh in Dota at least you just have to level up enough to unlock the ability, then you can use it whenever it's not on cooldown. Ults usually have pretty long cooldowns though

Yeah. The thing is, some routes you can take are surprisingly disturbing.

Just a regular dumbo budgie called Kiwi that is fluffy as heck. He's yellow with a little green

I love how much life and decision-making your sister's parrots show. Kiwi also doesn't always like carrots, but he's never really seemed to be asking for something in specific (except for more of whatever he was already eating). And yeah when Kiwi doesn't want carrots he just bites pieces off and throws them everywhere (the carrot is fixed so it won't fall off no matter how hard he tries). I've had birdos who threw food to the ground when they didn't want it too though

Haha, yes, the "true" route is kinda messed up

Awww he sounds like a cutie! Yeah Pearl like throwing things off the cage, especially if we're watching her. She likes when we get exasperated and say her name. I guess birds are basically toddlers the whoooole world over, lol

Kiwi rebelling

Socchi! I was in Seattle two weeks ago! Do you still work at Amazon?

I think you told me before, but maybe that was just Yan's friend's two parrots. They still sound like good birdos. Sounds like they know what they want

Yup! For a while we couldn't get them to eat anything but corn and seeds. Such unhealthy birds. But now they'll eat apples, carrots, peas, broccoli, pomegranate...

Maybe they're pigeons dressing up as parrots

tbh my sister would love them just the same if they were, if not more

...

yup I asked her and she says she loves pigeons

My cat doesn't understand daylight savings time

I also like parrots, because like cats and dogs, they actually have individual personalities

Did you know my sister has two parrots o:

They don't talk though. Just scream and eat corn

I just want to eat all the cookies ):

Probably because Nep was talking about geology stuff and dark princess being the plebeian he is did not understand

Well, not like dreams mean anything anyway

You know me, always happy to show plebeians their place

Sounds like you've got some experience in ignoring weird dreams o:

The better term is "Nightmare"

The other dream I remember well that I got married in involves me leaving the dude at the altar because I was like wait, who is this

Since I don't know much about ocean-arc basalts, I did have to look up one of the terms Nep used.

Science:

Spoiler

Thought you might want to know more of the context for it! We're looking to see the origin of our basaltic dikes, so being able to rule out volcanic arcs was useful.

I never wake up early enough to give myself enough time for things DDDDDD:

Hmmm so Nep is the kind of student to go after the professor, mhmmm...

It was a weird dream. Tbh not the first I've had where I've gotten married, or even the first where I'm in some weird relationship with someone I know in real life

Gaahh. I missed an appearance by our special Naptitude. Hope things are still great with Annie-san.

I'd suggest that you try to chip away at the thesis, but having similar symptoms to yours I know that probably won't work.  If you can make sections of the needed work *feel* like displacement activities, that could go a long way.  In research (writing, lab, library or field work), perseveration can be your friend. You let your brain fall into a game-like trance, continue plugging away at something thesis related past all reasonable conscious attention span, and then 'come to' hungry/exhausted/etc. but with a big pile of thesis-related work accomplished.  Do that at intervals, when you feel enough like it. Accumulate the big chunks that make up a good thesis. Then the only part to have to force yourself to do, on deadline, is stitching the pieces together and polishing the result.

Annie is still in NYC doing epidemiology stuff

Right now I gotta do all the graphs to have something to write about, lol. The only graph I have write now is just "yup these are basaltic lol." They annoyingly walk the line between cal-alkaline and tholeiitic basalts.

but 'otaku' means 'nerd' in japanese \o/

where have you been and how's your uni/job/chair/family/futurehusbando

or find some site that'd give you a link to an image with a date that'd get updated every day \o

Well TIL, but there's a bit of a different connotation, right? Nowadays in the US, nerdiness is mainstream. But to be otaku in Japan is still really looked down on, right...?

There's a comfy chair here but I haven't been in it for a while because of Princess Dogfarts. Job pays me $0.50 more than it did last semester. I have data to write my thesis now, unsure how that's actually going to turn out? Family is, well. It is what it is. They're all good, it's just different. There are no future husbando except I did have a dream that I got married to the professor I'm doing research with and whose class I'm currently taking. .-. He's young and my type, too, dammit. So awkward. Why. Brain, why. Other than all that, I have no idea what my life is doing~

How is Ponyville?

Aghhhh that's a lot of work too :/

Oh right, where have I been.

Well, since my heavy backpack started giving me back pain, I haven't been taking my laptop to campus with me. So I don't end up on my laptop very often. I've for stretches longer than a week without even booting it up. I haven't logged into Batoto anywhere else. I think I don't remember the password? I've been on tumblr, though. If you want my username I can pass it along. :3 There's some pictures of Crazy Dog jumping around in the 30 inches of snow we got a month ago on there <:
