Wow sjoe, you were next level. Hope you lived on the ground floor for the sake of all the stuff you threw down lol

Haha I actually don't remember. I'm told it was mostly the potatoes and onions that I enjoyed throwing. Lol. I feel bad for my parents now.

I'm no fan of these normie street pigeons, but they are hella impressive. Smart as Nep stated (great memory, have concepts of forms, can find their way back and also improve their flying routes with experience and extremely rigid genes. You can fuck them up with overbreeding and then unfuck it in about 2 generations of pigeon babies. It's cray

I...Is Hatoful Boyfriend what I'm thinking it is?

A pigeon dating simulator. They have human forms most of the time though (except for one birdo) and the MC is a human girl

By human forms I mean their art is that of a human but they're still supposed to be birds

Maybe a "gender violence" specific number to talk about these issues or report something if you think a man/woman is beating their husband/wife.

And no, woman being beaten is not a "political correctness" issue. It'd be good if you could stop with that "political correctness is ruining everything" stuff btw.

It's funny how so many people complain that "we can't say anything anymore" even though people are now more openly racist than in the previous 10-20 years and far right parties gain votes everywhere in Europe.

When you google 1942 lettuce instead of 1942 lyrics and learn about the fluctuating supply and demand of lettuce at the Queen Victoria wholesale markets in early 1942.

The other has like five Super Bowl wins already
Atlanta hasn't gotten one in fifty years

It's like a Cinderella story except she dies at the end

I'd been keeping one in my bag all of last month but I never required it so I just removed it because weight.

But yeah, considering the hurricane and all, I should've expected some rain, I guess. :/
Rains in this part of US seem to be quite unpredictable/erratic. Don't think there's any well-defined rainy season over here.

With a bicycle and hard blowing rain you just about need full head-to-toe water proof rain gear. In warm weather it's a toss-up whether you're better off just wearing cycling shorts + a T-shirt and getting wet.  Living in Houston, TX, my priority was to keep the decent clothes stashed in my backpack dry.  Any clothes on my body were just gonna get wet and filthy (urban floods are really disgusting).  Was satisfying to cycle by all those stalled & flooded cars where the water got a couple feet deep and my bike kept churning along.  ;)

The eastern US doesn't really have a rainy season per se. On average the rain keeps up with evaporative demand--so heavier storms in the late spring, summer and during hurricanes. Late autumn through early spring tends to be gentle rain, or snow if it gets cold enough.  More total rain in south roughly balances the higher annual solar flux there. Fire seasons over much of the region (not south Florida) tend to be April & October. That's more because forest floors get a chance to dry out from the lower leaf cover while there's still strong solar flux, than any distinct lack of rain. Further north those fire seasons shift into May & September. South they creep into late March and early November.

Dry spells up to ~6 weeks are not uncommon pretty much any time of year--though they attract much less notice in winter. Persistent weather patterns can also make for long wet spells. One summer in the 1970s when I was working at a scout camp in Maryland, we had 40 straight days of rain at the start of the summer. Then it quit raining for the next month and a half. The whole region tends to shift around between more continental versus more maritime weather, depending fluctuations in broad scale circulation patterns.  In maritime mode, moisture off the warm Gulf of Mexico and Atlantic Gulf Stream re-hydrates air masses that have dried out as they moved west-to-east across the mountains along the west coast and interior Rocky Mountains.  In continental mode, the air flows more out of the southwest or northwest, without mixing much with flow off the adjacent oceans. There's also an El Niño - La Niña linkage that makes the upper Mississippi basin wet and the southeast dry during the El Niño phase, and vice versa during La Niña years.

Rather than unpredictable/eratic, I'd say "interesting".  :)

#1748466 Dreams!

Posted by Bokuboy on 11 May 2016 - 01:51 PM

I have been feeling unwell, so I've been sleeping a lot the past few days, a few hours at a time.

I'm sorry to hear that. There's nothing worse than feeling bad and only being able to sleep in fits and starts.

Mind you, I always sleep that way. I'm up every couple hours, whether I want to be or not. I got into the habit back in college and never broke out of it.

I hope you feel better soon!

With the pleasantries out of the way, on to my dream:

Last night I had a doozy. If anyone steals this idea, I'll visit you in your dreams! I know Freddy personally. We're good friends. :D

I was watching it at first, and a woman was going to poison a new attraction, to kill hundreds of people... she climbed to the top of this big rock construction while talking to her date, who didn't know what she was doing and tried to convince her to come down. Anyways, 'Superman' walked up to stand at the bottom of the display, and convinced her to get down. Caught before she could plant the device, she climbed down and slipped near the bottom. He caught her, and when she grabbed him around the neck, she spilled a concentrated dose of the poison onto the back of his neck. It took only seconds, and he collapsed. She gasped and started to freak out. She'd killed Superman! I joined in on the dream as the real Superman, caught her, and had her date call the police. The man she'd inadvertently killed was an actor that was hired to open the attraction. Carl Westman was a consummate actor and he'd been playing Superman for years. I gave his eulogy... saying he really was a superman. He'd saved hundreds of people from an agonizing death. He was a true hero. The woman was dragged off to a mental institution screaming she'd killed Superman. I jumped back out of the dream and watched it a bit longer, until Clark Kent published the story in the Daily Planet with the title 'Superman Dies!' and all the details of Carl Westman's accidental sacrifice... and then I woke up.

So, another question: Can anyone else jump in and out of their dreams at will?

I've done it quite a lot...
