attempts to lure myself from the interwebz have been going on for at least a week, and have, as yet been unsuccessful , yet, somehow, i somehow seem to to still be on top of my hw and no noticeable change in my performance in school. Even after several tests that I haven't studied for.... For some reason, i don't think this will fly very well as soon as I get out of high school. Oh well, enjoy it while it lasts I guess =)

American (you probably wanna use western) animation was largely aimed at children but nowadays the industry has grown to adults as well (ex. family guy) whereas Japanese animation has been aimed to all people regardless of the age group so in that way you could say that it's 'senior' to western animation. Walt Disney is primarily aimed to children and so it cannot completely encompass all of the animation in America, so if you say Walt Disney vs. Hayao, you give anime an unfair advantage because the word Disney doesn't encompass all the adult american animation around today.

My opinion is that anime is better because in my eyes, american animation has matured to its full potential yet and (as far as I've seen) only has one genre, comedy, whereas anime can be much more...deep and soul wrenching (and make you cry as they kill everyone you looovveeee)
