I don't think there's anything wrong with talking about things from your daily life. The only things are that: perhaps there could be less threads revolving around similar topics and some of the threads could be merged 'cos of the thread clutter.

Even if the discussions are about movies, music, novels, perspectives on life, etc., they're still all things we go through in our life and subjects we think about.

Still, I think some of the forum organisation issues should be left to the mods instead of the users deciding arbitrarily how a forum should be managed and moderated. Though I'm sure such a discussion is sorely needed, once in a while.

Stumped about the "like" feature!

Btw, I noticed that some people have "likes" in their profile... like "28 likes" and so on.

Question: where do these likes come from? I can't figure that out.

Also, how do you "like" someone?

Sorry, I'm super stumped! It's not connected with the "Like this" post on your post, is it?

1) So, is it possible to let people batch add chapters and/or volumes, as long as the numbering follows an exact certain order? And you simply drag and drop the folder or links, or batch paste the urls and just specify the proper vol/chapter numbers.

I know this is quite a strange request but I think it'd lessen the amount of time required, when adding hundreds of chapters or a ton of volumes.

2) Also, is it possible to have the site reject a file when: there are problems with it or when the url is dead/wrong(as in: the file is not there)? I think it'd save everyone a lot of time if we get an error message instead of having to delete a messed-up chapter or volume.

Well, I am basically the only person uploading almost all of the series I'm working on and it would kill me to upload all in single chapters. Some of these series I've uploaded have over 20 to 30 vols, btw. Furthermore, some of the chapters have really borked numbering and I'd rather not waste my time trying to batch re-number the files, when the server is gonna rename them again.

Instead, I leave it to the folder naming. Just to let you know, I've uploaded over 200 volumes of manga so far and I'm not going to fix them all as it's a lot of trouble.

I know that it looks so much cooler to see a ton of chapters but sorry, I'd freak out then 'cos many groups offer their manga only in volume downloads and it takes time to divide up the chapters and rezip everything. Besides, some volumes don't even have chapter numberings but instead, Vol 1 Pg 100, Pg 200 and so on. That's 'cos certain groups only do volume releases and sometimes even remove the contents page.

Finally, something I need to mention: a lot of 4-koma manga have like a lot of strips per volume. And each strip is sometimes a chapter. For such series, imho, it'd be better to release them in batches or in volume form 'cos people will get pissed if they've to click and click for each page.

I'm not saying you can't do individual uploads but that to me, is a personal preference. Mhh , a mod, has even told me that "having a volume upload is better than no comic"(well, not really exact words but there you go).

And one more thing: all issues related to uploads should be handled by mods. They prefer to handle it themselves. That should answer your PM request.
