Hi all, I've been trying to upload a 65 page chapter that I scanlated myself for Kaiouki in unprotected zip format that is 6 mbs in size for the past 4 hours. I have a steady 6 Mbps upload, so I doubt it's my connection. I'm in the US West Coast, if that affects anything.

Is it normal for it to be this difficult and should I just keep trying over and over? It gives me the IOError at some random interval, anywhere from 4% to 70%, whether I try Chrome, Firefox or IE. As it takes about half an hour to upload roughly 3mbs, I'm just wondering if I'm doing something wrong here.

Thanks for any tips!

No, it's obviously abnormal to see such rates of IO issues.

You can try using alternative means of uploads too. Like uploading to dropbox and then using that link instead. You can also try updating flash if you haven't already done so as the uploader is a flash application.

Thanks for the reply Grumpy. I have my flash up to date, so I don't believe that is the problem.

I tried to use dropbox, but it gives me another error: "Upload failed. Could not open the zip file. Please make sure that there's no password in it and that the zip file is not corrupted."

I have verified that the file works and is accessible by logging off from dropbox, downloading then opening the file myself. I also tried making a new zip file, but have the same error.

The file is at https://www.dropbox.com/s/bsstixqjluyyxnh/Kaikouki_V2_Ch5.zip

Any other ideas? Thanks for the help.

Got it working by uploading a .rar file instead of zip to dropbox. Hopefully that'll do it.

If there are no problems with the chapter I uploaded (approval pending), I believe we can let this thread slink away to a corner and die.

The remote url option only accepts direct links. The link you gave as example is a page where a "download" button is present.

Grumpy, can you tell me how I can use dropbox to remotely upload my chapters then? I've tried using my laptop and PC, and direct UL is a no go for me, can't for the life of me figure out why.

Does dropbox or another free hosting site offer direct links, as you say? Do I have any other options?

EDIT: Ah, never mind. Figured it out. Thanks for all the help so far! I believe this thread can be closed now ^^
