Why did Lilu had to die?
This is just my personal opinion, but the story wouldn't have lost any merits if she survived; all that her death did was making me burst in tears and leave a pain in my chest that can't be healed with any magic.
*spoiler* Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?! *spoiler*

I may not have a crown, throne or royal blood in my veins; even if my domains are meager and my people despise me. I am the King.
A black mane adorns my head, i sit in the hill made by defeated enemies and the blood running trough me is black as night itself. My name is Kuroshishi, The Black Lion who rules by the power of his roar.

Yes, and thanks to that scar you'll NEVER forget Watashi no Messiah-sama...
If she had lived, Haruna whould have died (which is a LOT better ;_; ), but as the protagonist, she had to survive somehow.
CURSE YOU HAPPY ENDING LAWS!! You've cost me so many good characters Dx

Did it not seem like he actually loved Lilu at the end more than Haruna at the end with his whole wanting to change speech
