As the title says, but keep the suggestions within reason* and tag suggestions MUST be a major part of the plot**.
* "pettanko" yes small breasts FTW, but this is not Fakku(an +18 site) so there is no point in suggesting it.
** like how the sports tag is used in mangas like Karate Shoukoushi Kohinata Minoru

Also you can use pictures as long as they're not huge and I will make polls later on using your suggestions, but for now I made a poll using some of my own suggestions.

EDIT: After 750 people have voted on the main poll I will message an admin with a link and explain which tags should be added and why.

I didn't vote for anything. I just don't see any genre, tags, categories (whatever you want to call them) in the poll that seem appropriate or needed. Though I would suggest "webtoon" as a searchable genre. Well, ok, i'll vote "other" then.

oops, I can't vote for "other" unless i weigh in on "bro/sis whatever" which I don't think has any place here......so no vote.

I don't think it's necessary. The choices in the poll are pretty much like categories in M-U. While it might be useful for some, they'll just clutter the description page. I do agree with svines85, we need webtoon and oneshot tag, so we can search them easier. We have doujinshi tag, why not these two?

since these are asking for a specific tag and*

*I didn't make this topic to go "I love zombie girls and Sankarea, so you should add a zombie tag." instead I made this topic to go " Umm, why is there a sports tag but no music tag, because I know K-ON! isn't the only manga to have music as one of it's main focuses?" and to bring this to the attention of admins AFTER this topic gets a decent amount of votes/posts, because 1) they're busy just like scanlators and 2) it will sound a lot more convincing, logical, and important if I used this topic to back up what I say.

Also after reading your comments I realize that these intentions were not made clear, so I will change the title and summary of this topic to show my intentions and thanks for sharing your thoughts!

I came back and put in for "other" to help the poll numbers......like I said, I think "webtoon" is one that should be considered. At least one other reader site has it as a searchable tag and I've used it........hey, I like webtoons, they're all color and they make a good break from traditional manga/manhwa.

ahh shoot, I noticed you'd revamped the poll but i did miss that part........you don't think webtoon and one-shot deserve separate positions?

And I think music and one-shot are pretty reasonable suggestions too, by the way. Not that I necessarily expect the powers that be to pay attention, but they're more reasonable and possible than some of the hentai related terms that were there. Just like "incest" and "pettanko"......I really doubt anybody in charge is gonna think it's appropriate to search this site for genre that are more closely related to hentai content than main-stream manga/manhwa. But that's just an opinion.

@svines85 I combined those two since they're both the same and I didn't suggest "pettanko" I used it as an example of what not to do because it is hentai and there is no porn on Batoto. Also I added "incest" as a tag that describes the relationship between the MC and romantic interest like "yaoi" and "yuri" do, not as something hentai.

My mistake on the pettanko then, I didn't read the entire sentence thoroughly enough. As far as the other one I mentioned......just an opinion, feel free to ignore me, no problem.

But I really don't understand your reasoning equating "one shot" and "webtoon" as being the same. Something like Tower of God or Kubera hardly seem the same to me as a single chapter manga title.

If you read what he put in the poll, it says "separate tags". He means that he combined them together as an option because webtoon and one-shot are similar in their uniqueness as a kind of comic, I would guess. You would still be voting for each to have their own tag.

Yeah, thanks, I saw that.....still can't say it makes sense to me to group the two of them together though, in the poll or otherwise. But it's not my poll and I'm rapidly losing interest. What can I say, short attention span.

Oneshot tag has been suggested for a long time, if my memory serves me right. I think oneshot and webtoon are the most urgent for now, since Batoto has quite a number of those and it's a bit difficult to search them.

There are too many tags discussing tags. I'm locking the Apocalypse and NTR threads (which itself is a duplicate) so, please add them to the choices. And I think it would be better if you remove the "other" option. Instead of having that option, you can just update the OP to state that if you don't find what you want to vote for, suggest them by posting or something.

Contrary to popular belief Grumpy actually reads these suggestions.

I don't see a reason for any of the suggestions to be implemented currently. Some of them are outright inappropriate.

I would think that the basic requirement for a useful genre tag would be that it's something which some decent number of people would want to either include or exclude in searches or would immediately check for in descriptions. I think Oneshot would be okay, though it'd only be really useful for genre searches, since it's generally clearly stated in descriptions. Webtoon maybe. Music maybe. And I could see an argument for Vampire (since that's something that some people would specifically include and others specifically exclude). That's about it from these suggestions though, and I didn't vote for any of them, since I don't think any of them are particularly urgent.

There seem to be standardized set of genres, which, I assure you, Grumpy did not invent himself, but simply implemented. Why should Batoto stick to this set? Because convenience. Really. Imagine if everyone used different units of measurements when expressing a certain quantity. Basically the same goes for comic genres.

Tag is not the same as genre. Learn the difference, because it is important.

It is also important to mention that Batoto is an online reader, a publisher of sorts. It is not a database of existing comics. Manga-updates is one good such site, that I am sure you can find useful.
