I'm not really in to self-medicating.

I stop breathing during my sleep and die.

Actually that's not the worst that can happen, but it's the threshold at which additional worse-ness doesn't bother me especially more.

More realistically, my life spirals out of control and I end up a hikkikomori NEET because I can't handle it all.

Don't ask me the worst that can happen. I can come up with lots of things, of varying degrees of rationality. I'm creative like that.

Anyway, everything's probably going to be okay, but in the meantime it's rough.

62 actually dying in one sleep with asphyxiation is common
Beds were heavy back in the days and people thought a horse (mare) was stepping on them
Hence the word nightmare
You see it depicted in paintings too usually a horse head on top of a woman

Did people didn’t get stress as much back in the days

I thought central sleep apnea was more dangerous in the "suddenly decide never to breathe again" problem but I'm not well researched in this are so I could be wrong.

Still, can we change the subject? I actually genuinely don't need fuel for my paranoid night-brain right now.

Thanks. *hugs back* They were talking about oxytocin and hugs on the radio on the way here, so right now I'm thinking, "Is this soft feeling what oxytocin feels like, then (or is it more complicated than that)"? o.o

I'm on day 14 of continuous crunch-time but it should be over tomorrow I think and on day 16 or 17 I should probably be able to rest at leisure and become a little less tumbled of a person.

That for me would be more like "social anxiety", having to try to keep up with that godawful hyper-masculine environment... x.x;

A read of the Wikipedia page on oxytocin suggests that it does... Many, many things. It's a pretty long article...

*Hugs*

I seriously recommend hugs, though I may be incorrectly-biased because my bouts of depression tended to be partially loneliness-based.

77 I played some rpg and that seemed to have help a bit
Exploring tombs and slaying orcs and undead in divinity original sin
Ok time to slave away once again
And yeah the weight loss is temporary
Like myth of sysphius never ending never beginning
In the diamond sutra the enlightened one was asked what was the lifespan of a human
He relied: between breaths

Inhale and I live
Exhale and I die
