Uh, in talking about the raw, you should probably put the discussion and plot revelations in spoiler tags.  I tend to not read the raws, because I'm totally illiterate in all forms of Japanese writing.  I appreciate the desire to discuss a great manga, but hate to have it spoiled for me.  Half the pleasure of reading manga is being surprised the first time.  

 

And no, I'm not suggesting that you're doing this to spoil the story for anyone!  Being a total Adachi fan, I'm definitely looking forward to being able to discuss the plot intricacies with all who are interested in them.

Yeah, this is my first Adachi manga that I actually read before it's finished so there's a lot I want to talk about. I guess I didn't being considerate enough. I promise I won't do that again.

Well, it looks like some clearly drawn lines have been put down on the romance battlefield.  Touma and Otomi seem to be at the center of the whirlwind, and Touma is going to be the pivot point that all the other males vent their spite on.  An old trope, certainly, but let's see how Adachi Sensei handles it.

Well, I write a comment on a new chapter, and another one immediately pops up.  I must have done something righteous to deserve such good fortune.  With the latest remarks from the coach's daughter to Touma, I think we're going to learn some back history in the next couple of chapters.  I'm really looking forward to it.

First post here, not too much dicussion about this manga in web...

 

Good chapter, so Touma and Haruka met each other long ago. Well, let's see where this story will head to. I'm a little bit disappointed with Souichirou. I mean, he clearly shows feelings for the girl but he's used to go out with several girls and talk, so just stalk her in ramen shop puts him barely at the same level of the big dumb guy.

 

Anyway, let's see how these events will develop next chapters...

details and quite   hilarious . amazing chapter .

In the latest chapter, I noticed something about Nan-chan.  Even though he doesn't appear to like either of the Tachibana brothers, he has no hesitation about inviting himself over for food (for the second time).  He seems to have learned more than baseball from Haruka's father.

Chapter 24 is out! Good one, but I'm still unsure if this Haruka/Touma story will develop much more. I mean, sure the girl is a little bit interested at least, but will he show some interest for her too with time or just keep avoiding this in respect to his brother's feelings?

Adachi Mitsuru's mangas are the best.  And it seems as if I found someone who loves his manga more than I do lol.  Wonder why people don't read his work more.  Back to the story, Ootomi fell in love with Tou at age 5.  Haruka at age 3.  Based on his previous work, it's obvious to say that Tou will end up with Ootomi, but I wonder if he will twist his work a little for this.  Can't wait for the next chapter!

New chapter is out. Some interesting development here... The coach seems very interested with Souichiro's pitching. I think he'll refuse a competition against Touma at first, but depending of the love developments and game results, who knows...

Well, the back story from the coach talking to Touma's father seems to be that Souichiro's dad was the ace for the team way back when, and it's also obvious that Sou knows a lot about pitching and is coaching Touma very well.  It seems like the brother's relationship baseball-wise is similar to that of Koh and Aoba from Cross Game.  Should have some interesting developments from this arc.

New chapter! Nice to see Tatsuya in the newspaper and the old coach from Touch in the flashback. I didn't understand if the #1 shirt that Souichiro's father used was the same used by Tatsuya or just the number was the same. And that's a little cliche but probably Sumi-tech (with a new name) will be Meisei's man rival again!

Wow, what a totally unlikable butt-head.  Is he trying to be the modern Japanese Ty Cobb by copying his sociopathic personality?

Well, Adachi's rivals rarely are flat. Probably we'll learn more about him to understand his reasons, but for now he'll play the role of villain for us.

Well...  Bald-face lying, bad-mouthing his little brother to a classmate, and treating said classmate like dirt tend to make me think he's an a@@h*&e!  I tend to judge people in manga the same way I do in real life (mainly by their actions and their words), and his actions and words are hitting pretty high on the cad meter.  We have seen his little brother, so far, as a pretty decent and likable person.  Maybe he isn't, and he's really a sneaky and devious scumbag, but that's no reason to be poisonously rude to a girl bringing flowers (and knocking said flowers onto the ground).  I was wondering why the little brother told Otomi he never played baseball, and with what we've seen of "onii-san," the reason may be that he can't stand said older brother. 

 

Another note - The funniest line yet in the manga:  Nishimura Senior to his son, "You really don't have to take after me on even the dumb parts just because you're my son..."  I really got a kick out of that one.

Where the heck are Tatsuya and Miyami (or their kids)?? Man, I was so sure that one of the main characters would be related to them in some way. I know Adachi doesn't usually roll like that but I still hoped. I'm guessing now that they are going to be part of a much bigger reveal or maybe even the climax of the manga. We're still early on, I can see this one going on for several more years at the least.

 

And in regards to the rival slugger Akai, never believe what you're shown on the surface of an Adachi story. As we saw at the end of this most recent chapter, he doesn't really seem as bad a guy as you say. Hopefully we can get some more character/relationship development and non-baseball stuff now that this game's over. Since they're 100% not going to go to Koshien as first years, right? I'm looking forward to more of that love square between Touma, Souichirou, Otomi, and Haruka.

So, is Nishimura's team going to go to Koshien, since Mita will probably be wiped out still when they get to the finals (always supposing Seinan doesn't have an upset loss in their semi-final)?  I somehow knew that Meisei wouldn't make it to Koshien in their first year as a real team.  Meisei needs to have a chance to get an Azuma, a Yanagi, or a Kine, and have a year to turn their error-making collection of players into a real team.

So glad a new scanlation group has picked this up and started updating it regularly .

Love al the subtle refrences back towards Touch and the fact that in this show they aren't twins but 2 brothers from a different family born on the same day, adds a different dynamic to it.
