I just wondered if this is going to be like "Over Fence," where we got a first chapter, and then nothing. I can't claim great knowledge of the status in Japan of how Adachi Sensei's manga are proceeding, but I really hate getting all fired up over a new story from one of my favorite authors, only to keep looking for a year or two for an update. I realize I am preaching to the choir (non Japanese literate readers), and drawing the wrath of all the selfless translators/scanlators down on my head (sorry guys and ladies, I really do appreciate your work; without you I would only know the stuff released in English in the bookstores), but I really hate leaving a good read unfinished. I know I will be castigated as a selfish and heartless "leecher" (can't be much else, as a monolingual idiot with a taste for Japanese manga), but I just want to let the scanlators/translators know that I am one of the myriad of Adachi fans out here who would buy translated works in a heartbeat if they were available, and that I greatly appreciate your scanning and translating these great manga.

Let me just say that I am grateful for those who picked up Sora no Manimani, Natsu no Arashi, Change HiFuMi, and several other great manga that went on a hiatus for some time. I realize that even the unappreciated and excoriated (not by me) scanlation groups have a life, jobs, and midterms, and I am amazed they are able to get the time to do this at all. (I am a monolingual idiot, but my sister was a military crypto translator, and I know that it isn't a job you do with a six-pack of beer while watching television!) My Thanks to all of you. If someone has some information on the unfinished Adachi manga, I would love some feedback, just to let me know what I can expect to come to this site in the future.

Thanks,

There's only one published chapter of Over Fence with no signs of Adachi picking it up again. It was announced as a "irregular series" so it's not surprising anyway.

MIX is published monthly in Gessan, and it's supposed to be a regular series. I don't think Adachi would stop doing it after the overwhelming positive response the first chapters got in Japan (they had to reprint the magazine with the first chapter since it sold out everywhere, and they even published it again in Shounen Sunday a few weeks later).

Anyway, the third chapter is coming out tomorrow in Japan, so you can expect us to release it in the next few days.

Yes, I really enjoyed it. I love Adachi's works, because they are sentimental, without being sugary and stupid, and I can enjoy them as an adult who loves kids and how they feel about things. It is weird, though, that his (the pitcher/mc's) parents seem to be far lower in coolness stature to his "brother and sister's" mother and late father. The parents in Adachi Sensei's works certainly run the gambit from useless jerks to mothers of huge stature. He certainly doesn't have parents that run the same from series to series. Some of them are nearly as moronic as most of the baseball coaches he has portrayed. I look forward to seeing how the two Tachibana brothers overcome their bootlicking coach and forge ahead as a baseball team. Yes, I also enjoy the hint of the MC's spark of romance toward his stepsister (Sheesh, all of Adachi's heroines are as cute as they can be).

Oh, and just for those posters who think Adachi is addicted to incest: He AIN'T, dammit! Incest is a blood-related, genetic thing. People who are not blood related, no matter how close they were raised, CANNOT commit incest, although they can commit a number of other crimes. Keep the definitions straight, dammit!
