Are there any good translations of the various light novels about? And if so, where can they be found? I would really like to read some of them. Partially to get ahead of some of the manga translations, but also partially to get into a genre I've mostly only ever heard about.

Well, If you really want to read LNs, then go to Baka-tsuki.org. There's a ton of translated LNs there.

Utsuro no Hako to Zero no Maria and Toaru Majutsu no Index are pretty awesome. The LN version of Infinite Stratos too, much better than the anime adaptation.

True IS light novel is way better, so is high school dxd. You get to know the characters more and are given more of a story.

Just finished my first Light Novel. It was Sword art online Volume 1. It's really awesome.

ooh. Good for you. I wonder when will I start reading its LN. >;?
And what sucks is my bad habit of researching about something that I am currently hook with, I greatly spoiled myself of what happened to SAO LN. Dang.

I had watched the anime up to episode 5 before I had started to read it... It was still awesome.

Sword Art Online, Utsuro no Hako, and To Aru Majutsu are my top 3. I don't recommend anything else at the moment before you read those.

I've read many LN. And I'm not boasting because I will never boast my freakin' eye bags or two... got it. I just love reading... :)

My first LN is .hack (I think it's about Albireo, but it's not that popular... I guess) followed by Suzumiya Haruhi LNs (currently at Vol 8 "Indignation" unfinished), Fate/Zero (Finished), Kizumonogatari (Vol 3 of Monogatari Series... I had read this 6 times already!), Toaru Majutsu no Index (currently at Vol 18, unfinished), Hidan no Aria (Vol 7), IS (Vol 7), SAO (Vol 8, unfinished), Highschool DxD (Vol 5, unfinished), HakoMari (Vol 5, unfinished), Zero no Tsukaima (Vol 3, unfinished). I will start reading Campione! later before going to sleep...

I can't read Kanji so I'm always waiting for updates in BT.

If anyone wants cheesy romance about librarians, I suggest reading Library War. :3 It has guns too so it might appeal to a broader audience.

The TL'ed LN site is in the spoiler.

I really hate the setup of SAO Volume 3, although I'm forcing my self to read to a part where things get interesting rather than depressing..
