I keep thinking it would be nice if we could limit random titles a bit - something like the "include" and "exclude" toggles on the Advanced Search page. I like browsing with Random when I don't have anything else that's currently got my attention, but I end up going to too many titles that are of genres in which I'm just not interested.

I'm not sure if it would work better as an addition to the existing "Random" feature or as an alternative to "Search" on the Advanced Search page, or really if it would work at all, or be worth it if it would, but still....

Yea that sounds pretty good like have it only generate title's that are of a certain genre maybe.

Would it be possible to set parameters to the random manga function? So that, somehow, you could request a 'random shounen manga' or a 'random completed manga?' This would be really nice, because there are times when I know generally what I want to read, but have no specific manga in mind.

Anyone here hit Grumpysaurus Rex yet? The random button is truly a marvelous thing.

Not sure if it needs a filter though when you can just search then eeny meeny miny mo.

Yes, it would be random but on a subset of the database.

No it would just be a search function, random is where you don't know what your going to get. Hence the name random.

Giving the option to restrict the results of the random button, will infact NOT remove the randomness of the random button. Not everyone here wants to see random yaoi 9 out of 10 times...

I do the same for some other tags that outnumber the yaoi.
Seriously, sometimes you stumble on a tag you hate, but you find the summary curious and you start reading


And you never regret doing so and was so glad you didn't hit the random button again.

Well, sometimes you can find something you like out of something you don't like... eg. I hate yaoi, but Valk got me to read one I like... But there are genres that people HATE and don't want to see coming up when they click "Random"...

Maybe the Random Button could be changed to instead show several random manga in a list?

I dislike shoujo and drama. That cuts out a lot of manga including those I read.

Rather, a random manga that don't give you results that you're following would be good.
Or a suggestions list.
