I just completed Holyland and I've got to say, this is the best manga I've read and the ending was just fantastic. But, sadly, now I have less manga to look forward to, *sigh* I guess I'll go re-read Holyland.
Oh and btw Holyland was the first manga I read and it's great to see an ending to it.

Oh, and thanks to illumanti scans for translating.

This is one of those manga's that leaves a pain in my heart after realizing that it has ended. I'm glad that a happily ever after ending happened since I grew fond of the characters. Also this is the first manga were the martial arts stayed realistic from beginning to end which gives it extra points in my book. Excuse me while I go now and wait for this depression of mine to end...

Also thank you illumanti scans.

I'm sad it's ended but glad I got to read it to the end. Thanks illuminati for scanlating one of the best fighting manga ever made.

Well you could always try Suicide Island has drama on par with Holyland (by the same author). Though, there really isn't a manga as good as this one that mixes drama and martial arts.

I'm with you guys there. A big feeling of loss but I couldn't have asked for a better end. I will be back to re read it, no doubts about that.

It was really impressive. Without a doubt, my favourite in this genre. Not my favourite ever just because fighting-oriented manga aren't my main thing (How do you say whether this is better than Nodame Cantabile, or Yotsuba!--just too different), but head and shoulders above all other manga you can really compare it to.
And it ended well. It often seems like it's hard to end this kind of manga; fighting manga often just go until they get cancelled, or sort of peter out, or the fast progression of skill means that by the time it's time to finish it the mangaka has been struggling for ages to come up with monsters bad enough to make a challenge, and it's hard to come up with a grand finale that doesn't seem silly. But Holy Land was able to finish well because it always kept it real, and above all because it had heart. All the major characters got a satisfying finish, and the whole thing felt right. My hat is off.

The end was not so clear about Yuu. Might be with the girl accepting that he is a ghost of streets or he might be dead. It is hard to say .She might be waiting for him for real or a girlfriend or his ghost . Him beating the bad guys might also be a legacy guy .

For those of you who don't understand the ending (though the author made it clear here it is): Yuu decided to stay in the streets to help people like him change. He probably decided that when that kid stabbed him. So he also decided not to assosate with pro fighting and he was probably going on a date (seeing as to how he seemed in a hurry and the girl checking her watch). So I'm guessing they know he's still alive (his friends).

This manga was fantastic, i absolutely loved it. I agree with purple library guy when he said that this is the best manga for what it is, a realistic fighting manga. Awesome ending, it's gonna be hard to find a replacement for this one.

Guys here love the realistic part? But most mangas don't try to be that. It's like saying a baker does a bad sushi, both cook things, so he should do a good sushi, because sushi is good. Realism is taste, if you don't like crazy shit, don't read. There are plenty realistic shit out there.
Anyway, Holyland it's great. Sure the best of its kind. Actually i would like some brighter final for Yuu, i still not graduate from "Be the world's best" manga, so i'd prefer he going to pro. But it was awesome manga and a must read for sure.

I was moved to tears by the ending. Though I am sad to see "Holyland" be finished, one could not ask for a more amazing series. Thank you both Mori-Sensei and Illuminati Scans for bringing us "Holyland".

Oh God. I... just loved this manga. I'm REALLY happy about how it ended, the story wrapped up beautifully. :) In fact, the only regret I have is that it isn't published in my country, because this is one of the few manga I would gladly buy. I guess I'll have to re-read this on the Internet when I want to, also thanks to the wonderful job done by Illuminati Manga!

At least he kissed the girl.. I would've of liked to see some more of that action. Btw, what were they gonna do before he got stabbed? Hehehe.. I really liked the story, left me breathing very fucking deeply at the end, no joke, I thought I was going to die, but anyways I wish Yuu and Izawa(girl) would of stayed together instead of him going lone-wolf.

yeah it is really one of the best manga I have read, actually maybe the only one I have read twice -with Akira- (and just now reread the end, it's so good).

For those who still wonder, he is clearly alive (bloody footsteps out of the alley after he realized what his holyland is, and scar where he was stabbed appearing in the last chapter), and will most probably go on to the pro world because of the promise he made with Masaki and to himself, but just not yet (for now, he's checking gyms and meeting new people, as he told Shin).  :)

what makes you think they split up? She wasnt at her brothers match, and was checking her watch for the time..... i can literally think of NOTHING that would be a higher priority than a world championship match aside from a date with yuu.

This is honestly one of the greatest pieces of literature I have ever read, let alone Manga. I bow deeply to you Mori-sensei, and I thank you, this story, had an extraordinary level of humanity and depth of heart, in this piece, you have encapsulated a definite and awe-inspiring level of mastery. A massive thank you to Illuminati-Scans for such high quality work, and, a promise, I will never forget this story. Fuck me, it's rare for fiction to affect me like this one did.

THANK YOU

Is Yuu actually alive, or that was just his apparition?? He looked like a ghost to me....
