KDrama: Heartstrings, My GF is a Gumiho and City Hunter.
These are my top choices. I actually have half a tera of these waiting to be watched, but anime has priority since that filled up my NAS.

EDIT: I thought this was JDrama, apparently it's Korean. DO you mean original as in not based on previous manga?

J
Nodame Cantabile - I'm biased because I love the manga. But this is really good. Juri Ueno did a great job as Nodame! And I was seriously laughing when I saw Stresemann. hahaha! And of course, the music is awesome. duh! XD
Gokusen - Yup. From the manga. But it's pretty funny in an epic kinda way. XD
K
Minami Shineyo (You're Beautiful) - Girl dressing up as her popstar twin-brother. It's cute, and I like the songs! But I'm pretty much biased because I love the actors. Jeremy is mine pls. ; ^ ; haha XD
King of Baking - Not gonna lie, I picked this just because I like bread... But in the end, I didn't regret it!! It's actually pretty good, and I was hooked!
something extra: DBSK Banjun Drama. Haha. Very Biased because I love DBSK T__T But I was seriously laughing at the one episode "Dangerous Love" <- watch it if you're just really bored haha. Especially the NGs! Haha Awkward. (now I miss those DBSK days. ;___; ) Don't worry, you don't really need to be a fan of them before watching to understand what's going on.

Jin — my all-time fav!!!
Nihonjin no Shiranai Nihongo — honestly, the acting is kinda atrocious imo, but it's pretty fun if you have an interest in the Japanese language
Shinya Shokudou — imo, the live-action is superior to the manga... far superior...
Anyway... original j-drama...
If you like police/detective stuff with a bit of both comedy and seriousness, how about:
BOSS
Galileo — I personally am not a fan of this show as I find the acting style too corny, but it does have a fantastic movie: Suspect X (which is dead serious [pardon the pun]). You don't really need to have watched the preceding j-drama, but it would give you a better feel for the main characters. *also, it's based on some novels, so not entirely original, but I don't believe it's a 1-to-1 adaptation à la Bleach/One Piece*
Odoru Daisousasen (more comedic than the other two; also has a string of movies)
If you like magic tricks or mysteries in general:
Trick
If you like medical mysteries (specifically, forensic pathology), try:
Voice
