Sorry in advance; I'm a lurker by nature, not a poster and I wasn't sure where to post this. I quickly read the rules and checked Trebor's sig but didn't see my question answered and I don't like the idea of PM'ing staff...

I noticed that recently KidCongo posted up V1 and V5-7 of Blood Alone while noting that "Unfortunately, volumes 2 - 4 aren't available as scanlations." But I've seen those volumes still available (I have them, as well). Whether they were the official English translations scanned or fan-scanlations I don't know, I haven't looked into it. I don't really want to post them myself, what would be the proper way to get these files up if it is allowed? I'd rather avoid posting them myself, if possible.

I commented on the manga's page, but after thinking about it a bit; I can't seriously expect a staff member to read every freaking post so I thought I'd comment here in hopes that someone could point me in the right direction. I apologize if I'm asking something stupid.

If you are talking about Manga-Sketchbook release
I have them too. and I can read "Price: $9.95 US"
Nope. that can't be uploaded

Please read Offline

a proper scanlation means
The raw is Japanese/Chinese
There is a mangascan group did clean, translate, edit and then release it

Thank you very much for the fast answer! So because the source is the same (US/Canada released tankobon?) for the other volumes even though they aren't m-s (I think) the same rule would apply, yes? While that's really too bad I think I understand a bit better from your answer; thank you! I used to live in Kyoto and have quite a lot of manga in paper form...unfortunately, this isn't one of them.

Well, between the notion of not directly PMing a staff member and posting here instead of the comment section, you're well into the "above average" category. ^^

Simply put, we host works by fans. A fan(s) must have made it in order for us to host it. The said title is (probably) found to have no fan version. Manga-Sketchbook is a group that would just scan. Regardless of where the source is (us/can/japan/etc), we don't allow direct scans here (ie. RAWs [I have no idea why people capitalize RAW, it doesn't stand for anything, it's raw -- as in the original]).

...I am somewhat in shock to have been answered and clarified by the site founder, so I feel the need to reply (I don't lurk the forums often here, so this is really a bit of a shock; does this happen often?).

I think I understand now: so if I had the original pages (that I neglected to pick up) and cleaned, translated, typesetted and released it would be all good, but all known current releases fall under the categories you listed above so there is no known version that is ok for release here. Honestly, the only reason I brought it up in the first place is because this is one of the manga that I really enjoyed of this type so I was trying to think of a way that it could be shown here.

No need to reply to this if I understand fully ^.^

Thank you,

P.S.: I've never really understood the capitalized RAW thing either, a leftover from an older way of file-sharing, perhaps? Or just a way of immediately identifying something with a quick capital notation? My dwelling is mostly bilingual and that *RAW* notation is in manga, anime and live-action on the net, we look for it, though it has become more common recently.

Seems like you get it Random.

And yes Grumpy does answer often if you ask properly. :)
